Stuck "Connect USB device with correct activation".

I had purchased a lifetime FSC with one vendor and when he didn't respond to a current request for a map update, I bought maps from another vendor and tried to install them. Now I see a "Connect USB device with correct
activation" error message which I cannot clear. I've tried using my old FSC and that didn't work.

I bought an OBDII x Ethernet cable and was hoping that someone could help me clear the error message. The new vendor has offered to sell me his current software but isn't sure that it will fix the problem.

Can anyone help? I am panicking a bit as I will be leaving on a road trip in about 10 days.

Did you install the FSC using a USB stick or was this over an app that you run on a Windows laptop?

There should be a FSC_XXXXXXX_00121.FSC file that came with it and you should be able to drop that onto a blank USB thumb drive to re-enable maps.

Thanks for the response, Steve!

I tried loading the FSC on a properly formatted USB stick. I have the original FSC file, but I'm not sure if it was the only file on the USB. I'll try again. Should the file be in the USB's root ?

Yep, but make sure that you make a folder called "FSC" on the USB stick and drop the file in there otherwise it won't be recognized in the car.

steve@codemybimmer got my head unit re-flashed here in Toronto and also updated the maps.

I HIGHLY recommend him and his services!

Thanks, Steve (and Vithy)!
