Fast forward on connected ipod.

I have my ipod connected to my car, most of the time i'm listening to mix tapes with a length of 1 hour.

When I want to fast forward it takes forever if I want to skip to 30 minutes. On the iPod classic you can click the central button to get in some kind of fast forward mode and use the spinwheel to select where you want the song to continue (hard for me to explain, but people with an iPod classic will know what I'm talking about.)

Does this feature also exist on the iDrive HU_NBT system? It would be very usefull if you could use the idrive controller to fast forward and resume the song/mixtape.

I do not believe it does. I almost exclusively listen to mixtapes as well. I've found that the longer you hold down the FF button the faster is FF's. I can usually get to 30 min pretty quickly. It's still not as fast as the classic wheel though.
