Using iPod in Center Console and Charging iPhone

I keep my iPod permanently connected to the center console USB port. I would also like to charge my iPhone if possible at the same time. I thought there might be a cable that might allow for (admittedly unconventional) connection. Anyone try this?

can't you just use the USB port in the glove box for charging?

I guess I can do that. I like to keep the phone in/near the center console. Just more convenient. Using a cigarette lighter charger is probably the easiest, but I'd prefer to have the phone in the console. Another techno-OCD issue to keep me occupied.
