Best bug and tar remover?
I've been researching this a while and not coming to a real successful conclusion online. I've never used a product like this and want to as I've only used a net bug sponge with regular car wash soap. I want to try something dedicated to bugs on front bumper and side mirrors. The eagle one beetle juice is out of stock. I've seen a YouTube review for rain x bug remover cleaner which was said to be so so. Turtle wax product for bug remover also has mixed reviews even though it has a lot of ads for it but supposed to be 50 50 ok. Thoughts or helpful suggestions? Thanks.

I've been using Wd40 for years and have never seen any adverse affects come from it. I always wash the area after with a rinseless or waterless wash. Then I go over it with sealant or wax. Sometimes if I'm in a hurry, I just use some Meguiar's Xpress Spray wax. I've also read people like to use CarPro Tar X. Good luck in whatever you buy

Turtle wax for tar. Bleche White tire cleaner for bugs. Spray it on and you can watch the bugs dissolve. Sounds strange but works like a charm.

Just tried Turtle Wax bug and tar remover because I drove seconds after the road crew sprayed fresh tar to lay blacktop down (wasn't pretty) and it was awesome. I was skeptical because hell its Turtle Wax cheap brand, but it worked like a charm.

I think it is important to get the bugs off quickly more so than the cleaner - I mean just use something reasonable.
What I do for cleaning bug is use some of my wife's make up pad remover...I think they are just cotton pads and cut to them size apply some cleaner to soften up the caked on bugs and do a spray wash to the panel. |

+1 on the Turtle Wax. Usually spray it and let it soak on the bugs before I fully wash the car.

When I was in the States last year I picked up a bottle of Rain-X insect remover. Seemed to be one of the few that didn't recommend having to apply a protection layer back on once used. I must say it is awesome though. Anyone else used this?

To remove bugs I use a towel or microfiber cloth, dip it into warm car-wash-soap-water and then put it onto the bugs on the front or mirror for like half an hour. This way the bugs soften up and most of them can just been swiped off.
(same I apply for windshield or my bike helmet to avoid scratches of the plastic shield glas) Cheap but effective way. All you need to do, is to wait until the bugs are softened up.

Good tip, I am going to give that a try. I have liked the Motul motorcycle stuff both the insect remover and the helmet cleaner. The Turtle wax stuff is really good as it is kind of which and stays where sprayed. I also like Bug-B-Gone, I spray it on, let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes in the shade then most bugs hose off. B. |

Great tip! Got to be careful about using soap though, especially dish soap. It'll damage your paint. So only use it on your windshield, lights, etc. Best to use a regulation cleaner to get bug residue off the painted parts.

Well I wish I'd known these things a long time ago. Bugs almost permanently seared to my hood. I'll try turtle wax in future given the reviews.
