Justin,

I'll make a couple calls today. Can you check with Pines Shop Foreman to see what he's heard (if anything)?

BTW, look to left under your name. That 328i just won't go away.

Agreed, but if they are truly "shipping parts", that would not equate to just a simple software fix.

We will see it in a month or so whether this really fixes the problem or not. If this news is correct, ocso1606 and BavarianFanatic will start looking for a place to hide.

I agree 100%. The devastation is unimaginable. It's doubly worse because this region isn't accustomed to (or very well prepared for) such events. In the end this is all very trivial in the grand scheme of things.

Ok, so I picked up the car and tried multiple times 40-60mph... hands on wheel, off wheel, lightly on wheel, one finger... whatever... NO vibration at all at any speed in that range, or at any other speed for that matter. It's early, but so far so good.

Also, service manager knew nothing of the vibration issue! Has not had any complaints regarding that problem at this dealership here in CT. He has not seen anything from BMW on it yet either. So, that's it for now! CAR IS AWESOME!

I spoke too soon. So turns out that I drive mostly either city roads at 45 and under, or highway at 60 and over. But today there was a stretch of traffic on the highway doing 50-something iirc, and I noticed a strange feel from the steering wheel. Yep, the vibration! I was surprised at how strong it was. :-/

Driven 200 miles now at all speeds. No vibration at all, even when I take my hands off the steering wheel. I have DHP with VSS.

I do have some break squealing sometimes at low speeds but that's for another thread.

How many cars does this actually affect? Seems like every other almost. I test drove 4 f30s in the last few months and none had dhp and none had any noticeable vibration. I don't get it. Is it even a real issue? I know my m3 steerin wheel feels pretty harsh whn I'm drivin over rough roads

Two 2013 cars test driven. Both new with under 50 miles on them. Neither had dynamic handling, both had vibration (oscillation). Neither was annoying when holding wheel but could be seen when letting go or lightly holding.

So is the BMW part number # "FIX"? Just order that specific part and problem solved! Whoopee!
