Is the Performance Kit for the 340 out yet? I don't follow that, but I know generally it lags behind the release of a new engine (340 and 440 use the newer B58).

No it's not out in the U.S. yet. I dunno why but it's already out in Germany, Canada and I believe the U.K. also.

I'm getting MPPSK and when asked the dealer tells me that the kit is installed at the factory and the exhaust tips are added at the port.

On further reading I dont think this is true. I'm going to call him on it and ask for the PIA invoice price as per another thread.

Wait, since when can you do port-installed accessories on ED cars again? That's fantastic news if true.

Well.. did not get my MPPSK installed at the port. Never got a straight answer if I could or could not.
Interesting is the fact that it is an option on the build website (configurator) now. Wasn't when I did my build.

Suppose to give my car back to my dealer this week for the install.

Literally, the last thing I need to do to the car.
Windows are tinted, decals on, debadged, wired for my dashcams, front tow hitch plate installed...

Still getting a lot of convertible time out of her. Funny thing was a few days ago while in Manhattan. NYPD officer came over while I was first car at a red light (HEAVY police presence in the city these days- Stay safe Officers).
Anyway, he came over to give me shit (in a funny way) about having the top down while he was kinda cold! lol
Told him- "As long as it's not raining and above freezing.. she'll be untopped. Got heated seats, neck warmers, heated steering wheel and max heat going, got to enjoy the sun!"
He loved the car and wished me well.. I did the same.

Once I get the MPPSK installed, she'll be finished. And will sound a little thoatier than she already does!

Stay safe everyone.. crazy times here
Always

Ah so I'm guessing you paid full price for the MPPK and didn't get it residualized then?

I am receiving conflicting information about the MPPSK as a PIA on a ED order.

BMW of Manhattan tells me you cannot do PIA on a ED order, but they seem to know very little about their own cars.

BMW site says PIA is included in the ED process:
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...y/Default.aspx
includes "U.S. port processing and accessory installation"

Also other dealer sites such as:
http://www.knauzbmw.com/european-delivery
say "After clearing customs, the BMW Vehicle Processing Center at the port of entry will inspect your car and install any applicable accessories."

Manhattan is quoting big bucks to install it after delivery instead of the free install as a PIA. Any one have a definitive answer?

Had the same problem. However, it wasn't an option to order when I built my car on the configurator. Now that it is there, I would just order it and then leave it at that.

Interestingly, BMW's own website states that accessories can't be installed prior to arrvial in the US. Once it has been cleared by customs and goes to the VPC, it is cleared. Therefor, no reason not to have the items installed.. especially if you order the car with them.

If Manhattan BMW isn't going to take care of you, I'd go to that other dealer.

Sad that BMWNA can't get their act straight.

Motch

PS) Having my MPPSK (plus rear diffuser) installed as we speak. At my dealership, post delivery. Will post pics when she's done~

Manhattan has agreed to install it with total price less than msrp of factory and bundle it all up in the financing so I'm happy now. I fought for those burbles so I will be totally obnoxious with them.

Got her back yesterday.. she sounds AMAZING. When started, there's a nice rumble that slowly goes always after a few mins, when she's warm. But once I started driving her.. wow. Then, once switched to Sport mode.. the sound is constant and heavy. She seems a tab quicker but couldn't really tell yet. Haven't gotten a chance to drive her any length.

I will say, I look forward to both the Holland, Lincoln and Mid Town tunnel runs!

Yeah, I'll be 'that guy'.. lol

Enjoy~

I hadn't thought about the tunnels, I guess I won't be using the GW anymore.

Yeah, mine has the MPPSK on it. I test drove one without. On the latter, I could run sports mode constantly. With the MPPSK it's actually getting to the point where any more than 30 minutes on it and it starts getting a little annoying with how loud the sound and how heavy the vibrations are. So surprisingly, I now have to run in Comfort mode more...
