Tons of warnings, cel 2013 335i

I own a 2013 335i xdrive. I'm currently on vacation about 500 miles from home. About 100 miles in I get my first warning. "Warning chassis stability, drive moderately". 200 miles later I get a cruise control warning, make it to just outside the Outer Banks and everything went haywire. Warnings galore. Warning over heating, reverse camera, stability, abs, steering, etc. I'm going to rent a uhaul and bring it back home at the end of vacation. It's certified and I've had it about 4 months. Of course it's going right to my local dealer when I get home, but wondering if this sounds familiar to anybody.

My best guess is wire harness, battery, or dme/ecu. Any thoughts or similar experiences? Thank you in advance for any insight or help.

I have limited tools with me, so I have not. Its certainly a possibility. I only have a jump pack. I connected it, and ran it in the driveway for a few minutes. No drastic change I could see.

you should look up the steps to get into the secret menu on the dash and look up the voltage running and right after shut down. your issues sound electrical. Or you could have an animal that has chewed on some wires but I hope it's not that!

Thank you. Just tested it. 12.2 peak off and 14.4 peak on. So I'm thinking it's probably the culprit. From my understanding 12.2 puts it at about 35%.

not so fast...you should verify those numbers. from my experience...14.4 is right for charging (alternator spinning)...12.2 is normal without alternator spinning because it's a 12 volt battery. If your "off" reading was like 10volts then I'd say your battery is suspect....so in short: your numbers may be normal...double check me

It would be better to have it tested. The voltage is only half of the picture.

Cpo would cover this kind of problem so call bmw tell them pick up the car and fix it. They will fund a rental car too.

Garage List
Most likely the battery or cable/ground issue. All the electronics on these F-chassis models seem to diminish battery life, although mine still seems good (tested a few months ago). There are dealerships here in NC that could probably fix it for you, as CPO doesn't have to be repaired by the selling dealership. Closest to you is in either Kinston or Raleigh, but I'd give BMW NA a call and tell them you have a CPO vehicle in "off road" (un-driveable) situation. They should be able to help you out.

Thanks for all the replies, I'll let you all know what it turns out to be. Got the battery tested at an OBX Napa, battery tested good. So I ended up renting a uhaul auto transport and towed it home myself, 10 hours. Talk about stressful, especially the 20 mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Packed my car to the roof, and crammed my family into my other family member's cars. Got it towed to the dealer from roadside assistance once I was home, and they are looking at it now.

With all due respect as you seem to have a lot of knowledge about these cars and recommended that battery checker to me which I have installed, but how do you know 12.2 is normal? Mine is reading 12.29 every day in the morning-which the device says is half charge. Remember, I used ISTA a few weeks back and it gave a code that my battery is faulty or worn.

So a little update. The car has over 4 pages of faults. All dealing with loss of communication with ecu. They did nothing to the car though and say it is running great now. They can't replicate any of the problems, and tell me they are at a loss as what caused the issues. Service advisor was saying that unhooking the battery must have worked as a reboot. So they are guessing some kind of funky glitch, who knows. I have such little faith in this car now, but I understand them not wanting to just throw parts at it.

'Normal' as in what falls into the normal range. You should see it as high as 14v when the car is running, and as low as 12v after the car's been sitting for a while. It is, after all, a 12 volt system. If it won't stay above 12v for a few days of not driving you've got a problem, unless the weather is particularly cold.
