335d xdrive ACS springs - any downsides?
I have an LCI 335d (non adaptive) and am considering lowering with the ACS springs and obviously having the geometry reset.
Are there any downsides? I don’t have a front spitter so guess I won’t have any problems with front hitting, but say on pretty bumpy roads do you find it can hit the bump stops? Anything else I need to be aware of? Also anyone in Cambs (Huntingdon/Cambridge area) who has this setup and willing to show it off? Thanks in advance. James |

Lower ground clearance, they say ride isn't that much firmer.
If rendering the car less effective in snow and lower ground clearance isn't an issue I'd go to for it - you don't have a splitter so should be fine. |

They just make the car look normal instead of jacked up and dont look a lot different to sdrive - but the xdrive handles a lot better with the springs. They are not really marketed as "sports springs" so they dont offer a really firm ride. Well worth fitting to an xdrive though. The only downside is they are a lot more expensive than they used to be. (Blame brexit on that )

If you have to swap them back when handing the car back, assuming you're on a PCP.

Firm
Bit firm and bumpy for my liking. Loke on the motorway youd feel a bump in the road a lot more than i did in my 525 msport. Look great though

My dealer would have. The ACS springs are covered with part numbers. Plus I have an honest relationship with my dealer and wouldn't put them in an awkward situation. As it turned out they swapped them for free and i sold the springs on. But not every dealer would be so obliging.

So it's really down to how much the ride is improved and of course improving the looks! |

On my 4 series. The ride was 5% stiffer, but turn in and feed back 20% better.

I would definitely suggest swapping dampers at the same time, I’m going to do mine soon as when I had my ACS springs fitted, there was a vast improvement, however the car is more prone to banging the bump stops on back roads.

Anyone in Cheshire (nr Chester) have a 335d/435d with ACS springs that I could check out?
I'm seriously considering swapping them over but want to see how it feels first. |

I had my ACS springs fitted about three weeks ago now following the comments here and speaking to Lorcan.
I am not disappointed, the ride is less bouncy and particularly noticeable is the absence of pitching and diving under acceleration/braking. My daily commute is a mix of crap roads with very bad/bumpy fenland surfaces and I am not noticing any issues with hitting the bumpstops at all. |
