2015 335i xdrive GT with first round of mods w/pics

ROUND 2 POSTED below

Original Post.
I have had the car a month and finally getting a few things done.

Round 1:
  • Ceramic 50% Tint all around except windshield is 80%
  • Black Vinyl on the aluminum window trim
  • BMS Black Chrome exhaust tips
  • BMS Wheel Spacers - 12mm front / 15mm rear
  • Ok cheated on the grill with photoshop, vinyl place refused to remove them, said I had to go to body shop or do it myself as risk of breaking was too high. on the todo list still but bought some tools today to pull it without bending top bumper.

Round 2 should have grill wrapped, 20" black rims (YTBD), Dinan Springs, JB4, BMS Intake

Nice, looking forward to the lowering spring (with the spacers)!

Did you mean the windshield was also tinted with 80%? Seldom encounter the idea of tinting windshield (may be just me? )

Tinting with ceramic film has a 80% heat rejection so it makes a huge difference when you come back to your car on a hot day. The tint is light at 80% but still really effective in heat reduction, its like putting up those cheesy foil windshield covers.

Last I checked, Dinan doesn't sell springs for the F34, but AC Schnitzer does.

After lowering mine, it looks like spacers would very likely cause the rear tires to rub the fenders. Definitely post pics if you do install both springs and spacers.

You might be surprised. I'm here in the Philippines for the time being, it is very common for people to tint their windshields just as dark as the side glass. And yes it is just as dangerous and hair-raising to drive at night as you might expect, especially driving out in the provinces (i.e., countryside) with no street lights, tricycles/jeeps operating without any lights on, drunks walking out into the road, etc., not to mention poorly-marked construction zones. Stupid doesn't begin to describe it.

They do have the film here now that pardus referred to, both in light tint as well as nearly clear. It works wonders for blocking the UV rays from destroying your dash and keeping your car from turning into an oven, and yes exactly as mentioned no more need for the crappy folding shades.

the rims are 19" M double spoke 598M with staggered tires. They are the stock rims on a 335i xdrive in Canada.

Hmmm....it is an option for the 328 GT M-Sport that I am ordering. A few additional questions, if you don't mind:

- what rubber does it come with?
- how are you dealing with the lack of ability to rotate since they are staggered?
- what are you doing for the Winter?

Thanks.

Same as the rims on the UK model when ordering MSport Plus.
The 598M's come with Pirelli P-Zeros in the UK (or at least mine did).
225/45-19 8J front 255/40-19 9J rear.

I can't speak for pardus but on mine the wear is remarkably even between front and rear. The rears are just slightly ahead, but when they reach the limit I'll be replacing all four.

P-zeros run flats, same spec as karma. Not really concerned about the wear with staggered. Threw out all reasonable concern of money when buying this, why worry about the tires now. Would of bought a Mazda if I did. Lol. Staggered look great too.

Actually trying to find some 20" or 21" rims for summer and will throw on staggered winters on these rims in the fall.

Noop, me too. I had Bridgestone Potenza(original) on my 19" F31. Continental(original) on the 19" F34 598.

Mine came with Contis. I went with the base version specifically so that I'd get 17" rims (standard on the '15) to avoid the harder ride and propensity for pothole damage that accompanies larger rims with lower profile tires.

+1. There's a huge difference between what you see on the F34 forum versus the F30/F32/F36 forum. Most of the posters here post to praise how much they like their cars, most of the posters there post to complain about their cars.

Round 2 Mods

Finally got around to getting some more done on the car. We have had record breaking rains this month and finally had a dry hour but the car is super dirty... my bad. I will take some new ones when the weather turns around. The BMS wheel hardware did not survive the winter, going to have to get a new set as the key locks are fragile.

New items
RIVA MX7 Black Rims
Vinyl wrap grill
Painted callipers
Painted rusty hubs
BMS Intake
JB+ Tune
