Is this an LCI thing? Interior lights...

Hey everyone,

Just switched over to "sport" from "classic" on the interior light setting and when i came back to the car i noticed this.

I can't seem to trigger it except for when unlocking the car.

Is this an LCI thing or maybe even an iPerformace/eDrive thing?

Yup, that's not the camera, it's blue...

Mine lights up white like a showroom floor. So it must be an iPerformance model thing for it to be blue

Well, the thing is as soon as i pull the doorhandle it turns white, which i'm quite happy with. The blue is a little to blue to sit inside of.

It's the car's way of expressing it's unhappy and wants more performance mods. . .

0 - 60 mph in 5.8 seconds is enough for now...

Some m-performance brakes though...

+1. My 2016 330e doesn't do this but the major change between 2016 and 2017 seems to be the blue badgeing. Personally, I like the fact that mine looks like any other 3 series.

Do you have it in classic or sport in the iDrive interior light setting?

My car came with the m-sport pack so i don't have any blue badging what so ever, the only thing that differs from a regular 330i with m-sport is the e in 330e and e-drive logos on the c-pillars.

Interesting, i wonder if this can be coded out somehow. Or if its a multicolour led that can show many colours!

It'll be blue LEDs instead of a cold white LEDs that the non-e cars have. Won't be able to colour change it, there's no point in BMW doing that. You'll find that each ceiling light has two types of LEDs in it, one that lights up when you unlock it and then these fade out to give the 'normal' light from the other LEDs. Your car has blue LEDs instead of white ones and the normal ones will still be warm white.

I drive almost always in sport mode BUT I have tried comfort and EcoPro and don't have the blue color. I believe part of the I Performance badging in the 2017 models is the blue fins on the grill. Mine are black. Are yours blue?

And...like you, 5.8 0-60 is enough for me.

As said above it's a 330e thing. Happens on mine.
I actually quite like it.

Steve
It's not dependent on the drive mode, but rather the interior light setting under vehicle settings!
