Non M-Sport rear diffuser

Hey guys, so first off I know some of you will say to do the M-Sport conversion. I actually like the front end of my Sportline 328i and wanted to just add some depth to the rear bumper.

I've found this:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/BMW-F30-SEDAN...vxp=mtr&_uhb=1

What do you all think? Let's hear it... lol

HAHAHA sorry, that's the front lip which I also want to install. But this is the thing I was actually trying to get feedback on.

Rear diffuser:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Carbon-Fiber-...vxp=mtr&_uhb=1

OK, now GO! lol

That looks like a 3D Designs replica front lip. Its ok, but nothing compares to the M-sport with the splitter. I know I am not helping. LOL...

That looks really nice. Wish I could see it on the car to see how busy it looks. Also, fitment would be a concern of mine. I have a white sport line, and I would like a carbon fiber lip but there are like no options.

Yep, be VERRRRY wary of CF parts on eBay. If the fitment is off, your pieces are gonna look like trash. And that's the best case scenario.

I've never seen the rear, but it looks interesting. I think they captured the perfect angles but I have a feeling that'll look like garbage from other angles.

Good luck!

Yeah, my white Sportline looks really plain from the back and I think the tiny little strip of black they put in the bumper just doesn't give enough depth. I've been researching for a while and this looks is the ONLY solution that comes in CF. The other option is to go with a body colour or unpainted AC Schnitzer style rear apron, then either wrap it or paint it to a glossy black/CF. Like I said in OP, I don't want to go M-Sport because I like to be unique and M-Sport is sorta played out now

I am definitely aware that this is coming straight from my motherland (i.e. China) so the fitment is definitely a concern, as is quality of materials. As for the picture angles, you can see that it sticks out from the bumper quite a bit and is not quite flush (when viewed from above) that was a big concern.

Anyway, just want some input on this as there is very limited selection for our non M-sport bumpers.

I don't think it looks good at all. I'm in the same boat as you with a sport line. I love the look of the car from the front but the rear is very bubbly IMO especially in white. I think a rear m conversion is the way to go. Problem is cost is prohibitive. That's only reason I haven't done it.

I would be interested in how you installed it? The non-M Sport 328 bumper does not have a separate diffuser cut-out. If I've read correctly, you have to cut the "diffuser" out of the bumper and glue/attach the replacement? I just don't have enough confidence in being able to do this or a shop being able to and making it look OE.

Can't wait to see your pics and if you can describe how it was installed.

You would have to buy the rear bumper, aftermarket bumpers are good fitmit. I had to buy a m sport kit and 335 diffuser cause the kit came with a 328 diffuser

That's what all my research has shown. There is no way to retrofit a diffuser to the 328 non-M Sport without body work.

looks like it's M-sport or nothing at this point.. I rather like the look of my sportline minus the lack of diffuser.

Rockauto has the bumper only (i.e., no diffuser included) for $120 CDN, search part# 51128056498.

Sorry for the late reply. My phone broke and forgot about this thread. I actually purchased one of these which looks almost the same except that it's not carbon fiber. There is no cutting involved. You literally just put it on top and it'll fit and even stay in place. I wouldn't recommend it though because the quality of the spoiler itself is pretty bad and there was all sorts of random marks and scratches on it. They provide you with screws which I wasn't comfortable with doing myself so I had a shop do it. My experience with the shop wasn't exactly spectacular either. However to their credit, they did do a fantastic job at painting and installing it.

This is the one I purchased.

The carbon fiber one might be different but they look awfully similar so if you do end up needing to "cut" the diffuser dont blame me lol. ymmv.
no idea how to upload a picture on this site...so i just did an imgur.

thats what it looks like lol.

I thought this thread was for the rear non-M bumper, something similar to this: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1020448

Yes, I do think that's what this thread is about. But the question is how do you fit that diffuser onto a non-M bumper, when the non-M bumpers do not have a separate diffuser (i.e., bumper and diffuser are one piece in the non-M bumpers).

That diffuser also sticks out a great deal, not my cup of tea. I like the fitment of the OE or aftermarket diffusers on the M Sport bumper (i.e., more inset and and better shape/flow).

No, but I will be looking at it more closely next year. Just spent some money on new summer, winter wheels and a Dinan spring set. All tapped out for this year.

This is definitely on the back-burner for me too.. got the AA exhaust, aFe intake and H&R springs. Still need winter tires also.
