435i gran coupe exhaust not working??

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi, I have 2015 435i gran coupe and i recently noticed that my dual exhaust (stock, m package model) is not working properly. smoke only comes out of the right side of exhaust pipe, and when i place my hand on to the end of left exhaust, i don't feel anything when i start up the car (cold start).

Is this normal? or is it something serious and i need to take it to service centre?

Please if anyone knows anything about this. please tell me.

currently I'm living in canada which has cold winter.

when you start the car up initially both exhaust flaps will be open. after a minute or two you will hear the left exhaust flap close.
it will only open again i believe when you reeally open up the throttle

Its completely normal. After the engine warms up, you can put it in sport mode and hear the exhaust flap open up

But as i turn the engine on and as soon as i run back of my car and place my hand over the left exhaust i don't feel or see anything while right one i can see the smoke and feel. Am i just too sensitive??

wait. so if we are in comfort mode, does the car only lets 1 side of exhaust do the job while sport mode opens the flap for both exhaust??

There are a lot of variables and also depending on your selected mode and the operating condition, the computer decides when to use only one or both...

Dont you worry, everything is normal.

Just enjoy your car.

And yes you are too sensitive,

Welcome and Congrats.

PS: this question has been asked so many times already, we recognize all BMW noobs by it.

Don't worry,This is the 435I GRAN COUPE unique valve logic.435i GRAN COUPE either "sport" or "sport plus" , place the valve is closed,When you keep moving state, and the engine speed to break through 2700, the valve opens.

sigh, BMWs had the exhaust valve for 13 years now... people still don't know. Can you just look at the 5th sticky note in this forum ?
