More importantly, "why?"

BMW's have orange instrument lighting. It makes no sense that they made it possible to switch.

you need to unsolder orange leds and replace with white ones its hardware changes not coding

Quite possibly.

On my M4 it's possible to change the backlighting from iDrive, even though that's just plain wrong.

You can toggle between white (sport) and orang/red (classic) in the M3/4. Personally I keep it on the classic red/orange but if you want to look like a M car I guess someone could go through all that trouble.
