I am OK with CELs, I have a portable scan tool. I just want to get a feel for the long-term reliability of the car under max boost settings on the JB+

Any help appreciated, thanks!
max settings is for 93 octane only 91 is not recommended. Have put over 7000km no CEL issues.

I was running 75% max settings for approx. 5 months and have had 87, 89, 91, 93 and it's all fine, but it's not recommended so I'm only using 93 now.

I cranked it up to 100% and it has seem to have woken up!! It's been on this setting for about a month so yeah, it's been reliable with no problems so far. I'll update you if I encounter any problems.

I'm still thinking of getting the JB4 to use e85 though...my search for power only keeps growing...this is a drug.

Mike, is this trade-in policy still active?

What about when you switch cars? Racechip offers credit towards the setup compatible with the new car.

Jb+ is compatible for all N20, N26 and N55.
So if you had a 328 and got the Jb+
Then sold your 328 and bought a 335
you could send back the JB+ and exchange it for a N55 JB4.

Would not apply in your case.
Also the credit is towards the Jb+ not the stage 1

On the fence...Just bought a 2015 335i Msport... really want the Mppk ... 5 years left on warranty... but that JB+ @ $200 is really hard to pass up... saw some 1/4mile times that are really respectable for such a cheap tune... I have 93octane all over my area... concerned about charge pipe etc... don't want to void warranty of course..

then I read that I can piggy back on top of the Mppk??? of course I'd do this after warranty.... Seems like that'd be a very heavy tune requiring all the goodies that would need to go with it... but seems like the ultimate tune???

Thoughts????

P.s. just watched some N55 Pure videos and just amazing how much power these stock motors can take... Just crazy... guy was running 22psi all day creaming vipers, lambos, 900hp Camaro etc and then drove home... that's reliability ...

Get the JB and just remove it before your dealership visit.
Takes less than 2 minutes to install / uninstall

Once your warranty is up you can do a full tune like the Jb4 or flash

Curious about overall horsepower though. I have a 2013 335i xDrive rated at 300 HP. To my knowledge BMW underrates their cars and it should be closer to 330 HP. Does that sounded accurate, and should I expect to be around 370 HP at the crank once I install the JB+?
I'm in the same boat looking to pick one of these options.

Assuming you have the cash and since its the most power, why wouldn't anyone looking at these options just go for the JB4?

I've had a JB+ for several months now with no issues. I was thinking of turning up to max setting. I know Mike mentioned above that its still safe to do so but has anyone had any issues by doing the same thing? If a CEL does come on, I don't have a scan tool to get rid of the code. I was told by someone from Burger that it is possible meaning it varies from vehicle to vehicle and recommends I keep it at the default setting. Thanks

The JB+ is just a simple single plug boost controller..

The stage1 is a two sensor tune. So has more control over things.

Both are great but the stage1 gives you a bit more power and better drivability I find.

The best is the gull blown JB4 of course as that is a complete tune with full access to the ECU data, etc..

A full tune or at least JB4 would be safer in that it has more control over things like air fuel ratio and ignition timing.

JB+ is just a scalar. It doesn't change fuel or ignition timing like a real tune would. It simply scales boost approx 3.5 PSI above stock.

I had my JB+ at the default setting for a few weeks and had zero issues. I popped it open and turned it up to max a few days ago and still haven't had any issues. Easy enough to set back if it causes an issue. Feels a bit punchier at the max.

Yea always start on default though as not everyone's car takes max setting out of the gate as well.
