Yeah the diff is a really nice feature, but ehhh the m sport looks better in my eyes, with a nice set of 19's...add tune, intake and exhaust BEASSSST MODE...I absolutely love the m3, but as an everyday...well, I chose the 335.

I think this would be a nice option here in the US. A little bit more than a loaded 335i and you're getting almost M3 performance without hurting your wallet too much. Would be a more practical approach for every day driving. Love how it looks too, sporty and elegant at the same time.

It's never a straight exchange. If you go by that a base E92 M3 convertible would be $91,600 and an F30 335i would start at $59K.

You can't go by straight euros to US dollars. Cars cost more everywhere else except in the US

I take that Alpina just how it sits - wheels and all! I also love that Alpina has stuck with the N54 and worked its tuning magic on it over the years. I believe Alpina also gets better fuel economy than what BMW got with the N54 engine and the emissions are lower to boot.
The engine is based on the n55. Reworked manifold and twin turbo setup. That's why it's better on fuel.

It is a bit perplexing, he mentioned N55 but then said it had twin turbos, and the car is labled as Biturbo on the back. So what do we think Alpina did here, just swap the single twin-scroll for the twins from the N55? I mean are there difference between 55 and 54 besides the turbo set-up?

My answer was ninja posted^

The duty into the USA is around 3%, while the VAT varies around Europe, it is in the area of 18-20%, so figure their prices are at least 15% higher than ours.

Cant compare modded vs stock though. Out of the box this thing kicks its ass.

Great review. I'm partial to Alpina over M anyway, so it's nice that he likes it, but mostly a moot point since they don't sell the Alpina B3 in the US.

Off Topic:
I'm always fearful of running into deer. I don't know if I'd ever drive fast if cows were the beast I might run into on the other side of a curve. LOL.

I wish they would bring the B3 over to the states.

I've always loved the Alpina "look."

Absolutely awesome that they've taken the N55 and somewhat reengineered it to be like the N54.

I think this is a classic result of a "business mans" car who can slap the young kid who just bought a loaded F32 335i thinking he's God lol.

Remember, BMW doesn't offer those power levels from out the box and you'll need FBO + meth to be near that in a regular N55

Yes, Alpina needs to come up with wheels that look like they aren't from the 80s.
These wheels look like airplane engine fins...ugly.

I know the Alpina isn't.

Yes, we got 3.8. Can we get 3.7? Can we get 3.7? 3.7 anybody? Going....Can we get 3.7 on a wing and a prayer? 3.8....Going....???.....

3.8 it is since all the speeds between 3.8 and 4.2 are just completely out of the question?
