Quick question abou the EURO delivery - Airport Pickup

Hi all,

Does BMW pick you up at the airport? If yes, how do I schedule? I don't see that in my "European Delivery Program" package.

No, BMW does not provide such service as far as I know. But there is a guy named Rolf that do airport pick ups, he is very popular with Bimmerfest members: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=108661

But to tell you the truth I was fine with public transportation during my last ED in September.

If I'm honest, how you are treated when you arrive in Munich is one of the glaring shortcomings of the BMW European Delivery program. I notice this time that they at least have some group rates negotiated at various Munich Hotels.

Mercedes, Audi, and Volvo all provide transportation from the airport to either your hotel or their respective delivery centers. I believe they all provide at least one night in a local hotel also. Volvo goes one step further and gives you round trip airfare for 2 from the US on SAS to Gothenberg. BMW gives you bupkus.

Cab fare from the airport into central Munich is ~EUR40-50.

Rolf charges EUR55 (which might be slightly higher than a cab, but maybe not). He's a long time BMW employee and is very friendly.

If you are staying close to the main train station or Nordfriedhof, I would recommend taking the Lufthansa Bus (http://www.airportbus-muenchen.de/cms/en/). It drops off at Nordfriedhof and at the Hauptbahnoff and is only like $15pp. Otherwise, you can take the train from the airport into town (http://www.mvv-muenchen.de/en/homepage/index.html).

When I went for my delivery last week, I had Rolf as my personal briefing specialist. The guy knows his BMWs and is an extremely friendly individual. As far as transportation goes, if you're flying into Munich anyway I'd say public transportation is your best friend. I personally flew into Frankfurt so I had to take the ICE into Munich and that train ride cost about $48/35 Euros one way...not bad at all considering it was a 3.5 hour ride. Congrats on your new BMW!

I'm going to the worst time ever, hotel are costing $400+ euros and none of the hotels that BMW has the convincing has room available, there is a "fair festival" happening on the same week which is killing me.

It just sucks!
