Would you be surprised if you looked under the roundel and saw...
I really love my new F30 but every time I get behind the wheel of my e46 it gets me thinking:
The F30 is still the best product on the road in my opinion and that's why I bought one. A symptom of the times I guess. |

I think it belongs on an infiniti Q50 more than a 3 series. drive by wire steering.

I swear, if you put it in sport+, and you can get the road noise quiet enough, get up to 30 - 40 kph, if you crank the wheel back and forth like a mad man...
Your heart will break when you hear hear & feel the whine from the little electric motors in there; Just like the $80 Logitech wheel's for your 360 from Walmart. Sign of the times? Gas Savings? I wish they would just admit it, Cars will drive themselves soon, so it's a logical step. -- Still makes me miss my 2011 335 though, that car was on rails and you could feel it. |

The steer by wire I think comes with the technology package on that car. I dont think you can get a loaded q50 without the new steering. hydraulic is available but I think there might be a catch.

In sport, or sport +, the steering is VERY good. I know it is a different feel from hydraulic, but I like it a bit more. Plus, there are some DAMN good force feed back steering wheel controllers out there!!

I have gotten used to the electronic steering on my F30 with the 19" wheels and DHP package, but I still miss the go-cart direct steering feel of my prior E46. That being said, IMO the F30 is superior in every other way to my prior BMW.

I must admit that my Logitech keyboard definitely has better feedback than the keypad on my new iPad.

Whoa. Struck a nerve I see. My lack of posts doesn't make this any less true. I was merely posting a humorous photo - not complaining (love my F30, best car on the road etc).

Even though I have the same steering wheel, I didn't notice the Logitech emblem on my iPhone at first.
