4 series GC - tyre roar??
Tyre roar from the mixed 19's on my F31 is bad at motorway speeds and on occasions, really gets on my nerves . I've swapped the tyres over to Goodyear Eagle F1's and it hasn't made a lot of difference. Some road surfaces are better than others - the M2 in Kent is fine, whereas the M4 and M5 are dreadful.
If you've moved from an F30/F31 to a 4 series GC, have you noticed a reduction in tyre roar? Just wondering whether BMW has put more/better sound insulation in the 4 series over the 3 series.. Would be good to hear from 4GC owners - thanks

I've driven them both, tire noise level is about the same. That being said I don't really hear tire roar. How many miles do you have on your tires? Any unusual wear pattern? Have you had the alignment checked?

We went from a 2013 328i to a 2016 428i GC and anecdotally, the GC has better noise reduction. There seems to be less road and wind noise with the GC, plus when shutting the doors, there is a more solid "thunk" over the previous F30. The GC also has less of a "diesel" sound both outside as well as in the car which could be attributed to better insulation plus a possible upgrade to the turbo.
Anyhow, I like what they've done with the F36 GC. |

My question to forum members however isn't about what's causing the noise but whether they have noticed a reduction in road noise when moving from an F30/31 to a 4 series GC Thanks
