i reverted back to 2.1.0

i noticed my auto update is on so appstore updated mine to 2.2.0 which is support for iphone 6+. no album art showing after this update!!!

good thing im jailbroken and i managed to download the 2.1.0 @ appcake lol

all good again i can live big icons and big fonts for now on iphone 6+ as long as its perfect on our idrive

Why is it so hard for them to get this to work right over blutooth. It never changes the name of song or album, after first song is over.

Then if you plug it in to connected drive... its all blank

I don't understand why the Spotify and BMW Bluetooth integration doesn't work better. I rented a crappy GMC from Avis and Spotify WORKS with album art for each song!!

The updated Spotify does work well when connected to BMW connected drive but requires to connect with connection assistant and start the app on phone every time u enter the car! First World problem I know!!

Try updating your iDrive software. I used to only get the first song and album cover and never updates after that but now (after the update) all songs/album covers update as the song changes.

Rarely it glitches and shows the unknown but a quick switch to radio and back to media remedies the issue.

Edit: this is streaming over bluetooth, not plugged in.

first, you should check out the software updates online by bmw:

try UPD5062 regardless of your car's build date, some it will work and some it won't.

if it says it's not compatible, then your NBT software is too old and should be updated by the dealer, then you can apply UPD5062. (if you have the knowledge/tools, you can flash NBT yourself, but that has lots of inherent risks, etc etc etc)

as a long time user of spotify, i had the same issues, and UPD5062 is known to fix it (and it did for me). good luck!

When connected to Spotify or Pandora through BMW apps it works well, cover art shows and changes as tracks change.
However if not connected through BMW apps and whether its through Bluetooth or USB only the cover art for the first song played will display. Every other song after that will display the same cover art and song title as the first. Anyone know why that is? It's nice that not Spotify is supported through BMW apps that it works better but I don't always want to connect through the app.

I use GoogleMusic. Album art only displays with the USB cable connected but if I skip songs the art does not change. If I let the song play through the art will change.

BT doesn't show the art at all.

I've been streaming spotify via bluetooth. No album work or selection.

I can only click next track or rewind.


I am planning to get an ipod touch just so I don't have to always open my app on my phone to play music. I am hoping it will work via USB connection via BMW APPS automatically when I drive. I understand sometimes the ipod will revert back to iPod, but I am guessing that it would only revert once every day or two depending on how often I drive right?


Any one using an ipod touch USB via bmw apps spotify?
