That would be cute, perhaps, but if they need to waste space with a cupholder it is probably better to incorporate a cover which also has some use value. Perhaps the current one or similar which also slides back into a recess to use the holders.

Mirrors
I love this option at the car wash. If I don't fold them in they hold water and drip on my freshly cleaned car as I drive down the road.

Ok ok I get it, folding mirrors ARE a good idea. The only time I have had a mirror damaged is driving over a narrow bridge and being knocked off by a car going the other way - now if BMW could develop a mirror that folded away as you approached a hazard - THAT would be a good idea!

You can press longer on lock button on key fob. It will close mirrors and windows. If you got comfort access, touch the door handle longer.

I like the cupholder cover - I am tired off every other new vehicle we buy having large round holes in the center console - they're ugly. Glad I can hide them in the F30. |

Agreed - that is exactly what our '08 G35 had (along with a button on the trunklid to open it w/out getting out the fob) before it was reduced to scrap metal.

E9x models lost it, if they had the oil temperature gauge fitted. As always, not all BMWs are equal. BTW, I defend BMW's use of the swingometer over the years, although digital is now the way forward. HighlandPete |

no way the auto folding mirrors are great! the lines are stupid. BTW, are the power folding mirrors now standard?
edit- to address some of the above comments- I DO care about MPG and like the ECO idea. NOT for environmental reasons, but for time reasons. I want the car to make it through a week of commuting so that I only have to fill it up on weekends and don't have to deal with stopping to get gas on the way to work or on the way home. Is the convenience of a range of 400-500 miles too much to ask? I don't think so.
