Aluminium Hexagon Interior Trim..?

Hi there, I ordered my F31 335d yesterday, and noticed it had defaulted the hexagon trim.!

In my M135i it is brushed aluminium.

Is this the norm, and would anyone have a good photo of it.?

Thanks

A

Believe this is the standard M Sport trim on the 1 & 3 series.
If your 1 had brushed ali, someone would have specified it.

I have had both, and much prefer the brushed ali with high gloss black accent.

Hexagon is unique to msport and looks fantastic. Much more practical than brushed as less likely to scratch and looks very good.

Garage List
Having saw both, Hex is superior for look and longevity IMO.

I picked up my F31 today... Had the dilemma between brushed and hex when ordering. Was convinced I had ordered brushed but got hex, so went back to original spec sheet and saw that I'd signed for hex! Have a feeling I'd originally spec'd gloss black and brushed, but last minute changed my mind to EB trim and must have forgotten to get them to check if it had changed back to hex. However, now I've had a sit and think in the car i'm happy with the hex and glad it worked out the way it did!!

It is! I got a small dent on the dash trim piece in the first week, it would stick out like a sore thumb on brushed but i never notice it on my hex!

i have hex but much prefer brushed alloy

very true thought about hex being more durable especially on the grab handles

i have the brushed but like the hex equally.
coming from an E90 i think the brushed keeps that classic understated BMW look.
where as the hex is a more modern contemporary finish.

but why the hell they can't do it in an anodised aluminium that that doesn't scratch so easily is beyond me....

they could even introduce colours,
how about brushed black or gunsmoke grey anodised aluminium...

I have the brushed in mine as I thought the hex looks too plastic.

What spec did you add? discount? colour? where did you order from?

335d Touring X-Drive
Alpine White
Coral Red Leather
M Sport Plus Package
Adaptive M Sport Suspension
Front Seat Heating
Electric Towbar

I have dealt Country Garage for many year, and got a VERY strong discount, which no NI dealer would match.!

As you've guessed you need to see it yourself to pick. Some love the hex, others like me think it looks like cheap plasticky tat, especially with the blue strip.

The demo car I had which was near enough brand new had hex and it was wearing badly to the point I thought it was a wrap that had started peeling. I did honestly think the hex was plastic it looked so bad, sorry to those who love it.

Eye of the beholder and all that, just find one of each to make you mind up, and then get the alcantara version aftermarket

I've got brushed with the black trim. Car is Alpine White with Coral Red/Black interior. IMHO the brushed looks better than the hex as hex looks a bit a plastic-y.

That said, to each their own I guess :-)
