It has its place.(pretty much in the bin!) but.....
Always use when taking my mum out for a catch up, softens the ride and makes me "driving miss daisy" so stops her moaning. Nearly always on certain stages of M'way work commute, pointless in 60mph traffic in 3rd lane still having it in "Sports" as its then still in 6th or 7th gear even when at cruising 70 speed....eco knocks it upto 8th So happy to keep it in eco, gain the 4-5+ mile range, then burn that range off when sticking it back to sports and pull off 2 junctions early for some fun twisties it makes me feel "justified"

Nope, hateful thing. Mashed the button once the wrong way and slipped into eco poo mode and then it switched bloomin ASS on, cue the car 'stalling' at the next lights. PITA if you ask me.

Only on motorways, on a long run, when traffic is heavy and it's generally difficult to hit even the speed limit, and in conjunction with ACC. Drove up to Lancs the other week in exactly these conditions - going nowhere fast! Averaged 57.4 mpg. Brilliant for 317bhp car!
If the motorway is clear, like 3am ish, I tend to travel faster... MPG is obviously not as good, but it's still very impressive due to not having to constantly slow down and speed up for those who maybe shouldn't be driving mechanically propelled vehicles! |

I use it in the city. But on the highway I never use it with Cruise control. I find it most useful when I am coasting downhill or know that I will be slowing down bin advance. I really like it when I see the tachometer drop from 1100RPM to about 750RPM. Basically idling but at 70 mph.

Mine always defaults to Comfort mode when starting the car. I understand it's possible to (re)code the car so that it remembers what mode you were in when you switched off previously.

I tried it a couple of times but could see minimal benefit it although I did read on an older thread that it may have some use in the snow due to it dampening down the throttle.
No idea whether that is the case though. |

Surely if you are trundling along in a big queue of traffic doing 40mph, and you know it isn't going to change for many miles (ie my commute every morning ) then you might as well use the eco pro? In this situation a sharp throttle response will be of no benefit.

Only use it on motorways. Have to use kick down every now and again to overtake. As for climate control, you can deselect it in the eco pro options so air-con will work as normal.

I use it when doing the boring driving - Commuting, other people in the car etc.
It makes for a smoother ride as the throttle is dulled. Not sure if it really make that much difference to economy? During the hotter weather, I switched the eco pro effect to the AC off as it wasn't doing the job. I like the fact that, coupled with the adaptive dampers, means I can have a car that suits various different situations - Cruiser to Sports saloon - 50mpg to fast & fun!!
