Just checked my R32 average. Hasn't been reset in at least a year. 19.6mpg! The 320d is going to improve on that!

It's amazing how economical new cars (well, BMWs at least) have become. I'm expecting to save £150-200 a month in fuel when my 330d arrives compared to my current E61 545i (which varies between 19 and 31 mpg, average about 23-24mpg for the last 12,000 miles). Adding on the cost of the extended warranty on the E61 and the 330d lease virtually pays for itself! Shame I'll no doubt get used to the economy quickly and never be able to justify going back to a V8 for an everyday car.

haha - you've been ripping that! I had about 23-25 in mine, and I liked to keep it in dsg paddle mode pretty much all the time...

Sunny Glasgow. In fairness it is so thirsty that I get a lift to work and the car does weekends and school runs.

How about 0-6 in around 3.2s, 160mph flat out, no more traffic jams and about 40mpg average?

...the trade-off is you're limited to one passenger, you freeze when it's cold and boil when it's hot and there's the increased risk of death

Mine is almost exactly the same over roughly the same mileage. 75% town driving.

I've got a Sports Auto ED, driving mainly in ECO-PRO round town, Comfort on motorways, Sport on Nat Speed Limit roads. Use paddles and DS frequently when not in town.

I don't get it. f1swk has got about 42 odd for a 330d. Are you saying you've got that for your ed?

im getting about that on my F31 320d with a similar split in journey type, mostly in comfort and not really exceeding the speed limit. just about 1700 miles in. nowhere near the quoted official figures, however i did run some numbers through the Whatcar true fuel calculator using their data for a F30 320d and the figure that i should be getting is around 46 ish. I'll do a fuelly calc next.

if a 330d can genuinely get very similar figures in similar scenarios im very impressed, and a bit cheesed off with the 2ltr lump. perhaps a 330d calls next time round for me

With that driving split yes. However, on a long run, I get something approaching the official figures so I'm not disappointed. 42mpg in a 330d with my driving split would be amazing.
