Time from leaving the factory to deliver

Hi All,

I spoke to my dealer yesterday and they informed me that my car had "left the factory on the transporter." Does anyone know roughly how long it was between leaving the factory and arriving for collection at the dealership?

The date they gave me is the 15th of March but surely it can't take that long.

Not sure - when was your make date? Mine was week 6 and the dealer expected receipt of the vehicle on 4th March.

Sounds about right then if i'm looking at possible collection on 9th March. The dealer seemed keen to get things moving and get the car in and onto me.

Update - just been contacted to say the car is arriving at the dealer tomorrow and they want me to collect 1st March. So perhaps you can knock a bit off the expected timescale!

I see you are from the East Midlands - which dealer did you order your car from ?

I bought from Sytner Coventry although Sytner Leicester is nearer to me.The salesman moved dealership so I followed him as I thought he always dealt with me fairly.

I went to Sytner Leicester. Interestingly despite Leicester being my local dealership I bought my Audi from Audi Coventry because Leicester didn't impress me. I then went back to them this time and they didn't impress me and nor did Audi Leicester - so BMW Leicester stole in and impressed enough to get the order!

Hmm that's interesting Sunscreemer. I take it that the only reason the dealer is hanging on to your car until the 1st of March is to wait for the 13 plate registration?

In which case my week 7 build might well translate to a 1st of March deliver also.

Hi there, my car is a week 7 build too - should be at the dealers next week and I've had delivery to me confirmed for 4th March (as that's when the lease on my current car runs to)

I should think w/c 4th March at the latest for you.

Mine's from Farnborough

Yes, they normally look at a 5 working day turnaround from arrival to handover but it's a 13 plate hence 1st March. It's all been impressively quick so far!

Cheers PopeHamish, Sunscreemer.

I kind of had a feeling that the dealer was "managing expectations".

I hope you both enjoy your Beemers when they arrive.

Thanks, they'd always sounded optimistic to me but good to see they appear to have indeed been doing as you say. Let's hope we're soon added to the list of many happy owners!
