Doubt the N55 will be replaced anytime soon. It's just too good. They're even using it in the f80 M3!

First post, so please don't crucify me for being on a different page as some.

I am currently looking at getting rid of my Audi Q5. I want to move to something more sporty and more unique than the choice of all Fairfield county (CT) moms. I'm considering basically through the range of BMW, but every single one seems to be a compromise of some sort:

335i - Not particular svelte, definitely not unique, but can probably carry lug an extra case of wine or certainly 4 people comfortably.
435i - Svelte, but just for me. Not going to ask a friend to climb in the back. Luggage space comes at a (slight) premium over 335i, but definitely to my Q5. Also, I don't think I would want to drive a coupe up to Vermont. More unique...for now.
335i GT - Unique, but the backside still has me questioning if I would be settling on a hag. Good luggage space, and could happily ask my friends to get in the back for a casino trip or up to the mountains.

That brings me to the 435GC. This car seems perfect for me....IF it has a hatch. I get the extra seats in the back. Potentially enough space for probably as many cases of wine or other junk I may find myself lugging around. Plus, it will be unique because it really fits into a niche, and it still seems like it'll be a looker from all angles. Yes, the price is a concern. However, I will pay a little more if I don't have to compromise. Is it a mistake by BMW to ruin the naming system that was already hard enough for newbies like me? Yes, but I don't really care if its called a 465388423842i GT GC ++, if it means I get everything I want in a car.

I will not be considering it if it is a traditional trunk though.

Not going to buy the car if its called the 465388423842i GT GC ++.
It will cost a small fortune to de-badge.

The 4GT is really just a slightly upscale 3GT. The proportions are the same, you give up rear seat headroom for a lower lift height into the rear. So if you can't lift those cases of wine very high and you don't need the extra ride height for snow and seeing over the cars in front of you, the 4GT is the one to buy.

Curious if this car will be unveiled in January. I'm struggling with the looks of the 4GC. I love the idea of a baby 6GC but so far it looks like they are chasing the A5. My cross shop may just end up being a Porsche Macan.

February for Geneva in March.
The launch of the Gran Coupe will coincide with BMW Individual arriving for the BMW 4er Coupe , Cabrio and Gran Coupe. This will also be shown in Geneva for the first time.

Since the Ivory/Black Dakota leather is available with M Sports Package on the F36, is this an indication that it will also make its way to the F30/F31/F32/F33 with M Sports Package?

Negative - 640i GC is great with N55 engine (although it has the equivalent of the MPPK factory-installed). Drove one for a week while my F30 was delayed in shipment - same powertrain with 8AT, but you could feel the extra weight. Car was no slouch whatsoever. 4GC should be just fine. Question is, will the M version (if they make it) have the new 450 hp M3/M4 twin-turbo 6-cyl or the twin-turbo V8 from the M5/M6?

Are you sure about that? I thought it was described as a twin-turbo 6, not a single-turbo.
