I've peaked at 350HP and around 350 torque, 6MT non-MPPSK, second or third gear. Watch that redline, though, it comes fast.

My 440 MPPSK hit 370HP 375TQ (when I dont have JB4 enabled)
Yes, I'm aware the manual produces less torque vs. auto with MPPSK.

Here's what my sport gauge looks like hitting redline from 2nd into 3rd. Does this look right or should this be producing higher numbers in the sport gauge? I mean, it looks like the 355hp and 355 ft-lb BMW advertises to me...

BTW after having MPPSK a few more days I'm starting to feel it a lot more...

Look's like about 390 HP and 375 TRQ which is about right. I did a pull an hour ago and hit about 390 on both HP and TRQ, I'm sure guages and cars will vary some. I'd say it was several weeks before my exhaust was, well for lack of a better term I'll say broken in. In my opinion MPPSK exhaust note improves with age. (And dam I love where its at now!)

How does that look like 390hp? To me, 400hp is the last red notch in groups of 4, not the black space. If each 100hp is marked by 4 blocks then it's 25hp/notch.

Yeah I see what you're saying and I think you're right, I'll check mine again next time I do a pull and get a better reading. I don't know that it's a very accurate way to measure, in fact I don't know if it's supposed to represent crank or wheel readings, crank I'd guess. The only thing I'm sure of is my passengers seem to enjoy it, guess I must too since it's mostly up.

Lol... yes! I've been able to open it up a bit more. My first 200 miles or so I had to be tame in Comfort since I had the family cramped into the car because I wanted to take it on a road trip. Now that I've driven it for another tank of gas, it's really unbelievably awesome and totally worth the small lift in hp and the sounds are simply amazing.

2. You may or may not have a sticker on the side skirts (if they put them on)
3. When you put in sport or sport + you will clearly hear a difference when the car is warmed up. All down shifts will come with pops and burbles... At higway speed there will be a slight drone compared to comfort. In other words.. there is a pretty big difference.
5. My max HP and TQ I hit about 380 to 400 - If you dont have MPPSK you will hit about 340 to 360.

There is no changes in gauge max .. No change in the engine compartment..

PS - here is where you check your vin: https://www.bmwvin.com/
Mine also is listed as B58M
Also the muffler says m performance on it.

Apologies for bumping old thread but it seems to be the most fitting one for my question.

I'm taking delivery of an '18 440i with port-installed MPPSK tonight. The exhaust is installed and all, but my advisor thinks the tune would have been done elsewhere.

Should a port-installed MPPSK already have the tune done, or would that be completed at the dealership upon arrival? Thanks.

Mine was done at Port.. both tune and exhaust..

AFter your warmed up just floor it and watch the gauge ... If they both peak about 375 your good... if they stay at 350 or lower the tune was not done..

Gauge max is 400 is the same for stock and tuned... cant use that anymore

Thanks, riskmaker. I'll know in a few hours I guess. I've watched enough MPPSK videos on YT to know what it should sound like, but I'll definitely be checking the sport gauges as well.

it's MPKSK if this is your muffler,
plus exhaust in sport has a beautiful symphony
cracking pops and burbles.

Yeah the exhaust is definitely installed, but I've read some threads where it was installed but the tune wasn't done for whatever reason.

I'd like to find a way to confirm the tune was done as dealers are incompetent. Test drove an X-Drive car with MPPSK and honestly didn't notice much difference from stock other than exhaust note so butt dyno might not give a clear indication it's stronger.

Dealer installed exhuast on mine and forgot the tune. There was an unopened white package in my glove box containg a red envelope, skirt decals and engine bay sticker. The red envelope contains the key for downloading the flash. It was definitely louder with exhuast only, but missing the power and pops and bangs. Went back next day and had tune installed. Could tell right away driving off the difference in power and sound. They gave me a certificate indicating that it was installed with number and tech signature as well as a printout of the final coding report indicating that it was successful.

They couldn't confirm it was missing without hooking it up and running through the modules to check for it. Ask them for a printout of the software install report if you have any doubts.

I have a 2016 340 xi. I have this exhaust but I do not have the tune? Was there a MPPSK(which I believe is just the exhaust) and then a separate MPPK(which is the tune and a different M exhaust)? This is what my dealer was trying to tell me.

Make sense?

Not sure I believe it was always sold together on the 40i while the 35 had it separate.

They are telling me that there are two different M Performance Exhausts. One that you can get as a Sound Option which is just an upgraded M Exhaust.

The other is a different M Exhaust that comes as part of the MPPK along with the Tune. I am not aware nor have they mentioned anything about an upgraded air intake. Does anyone have a picture of what this upgraded one looks like?

I may go back and ask the dealer to verify.

MPPK is for 335i and works differently than MPPSK. It includes a new intake that has larger opening because it was based on bringing more air in. MPPSK is based on air exiting quicker via the exhuast which is why you need both for it to work properly. There is an option for MPE only for 16 and 17 340i called the M Performance Silencer. That is strictly an axle back, while MPPSK is a cat back system.
