F30 OEM XENON with all components for $1800!???
Hi guys,
I've been following the DIY for a while now. I search for Retrofit alternatives every week and found something that may be too good to be true. Autowin.eu posted the exact DIY Thread here but also included a link that has both HEADLIGHTS and components for $1800 + $125 for shipping Is this too good to be true? Would you order these and do the DIY? I am very tempted to pull the trigger and study on the DIY and attempt this in June. here's the link to the headlights. CORRECTION- AFTER adding to shopping bag. They are used set. http://www.autowin.eu/en/product/bmw...-lighting-oem# here's the DIY http://www.autowin.eu/en/blogs/bmw-f...rofit-to-xenon Please chime in. I would have posted in the DIY thread that was stickied but was unsure how many would see it. So I created this.

damn, 1800 is pretty steep especially compared to that fact that its $900 if you had just ordered the car with it

headlights
Yea, true. I bought a 2013 a month ago and it didn't come with the headlight package but it had everything else though. I know on the DIY sticky, the average price members paid is $1500-1700 but they were constantly searching on EBAY. Some took up to 6 months to find all parts.

Yah, too much for me. $270 for morimoto mini III H1 retrofit and $150 for DTM-style corona 7000k LED rings with custom acrylic extrusions. The rest is sweat equity...

I searched for months but it was only because I was waiting for tax return season
In all I'm about $1600 in, but that includes all brand new parts for the auto-levelers. These I believe don't include the levelers. Also, those part numbers match the European 3-series, so even though it says "RH LH", you might have an issue with the beam cut-off and needing to adjust it. |

Did you Retrofit yourself or did you have a shop do it? The Reputable TRS shop here in Fort Collins Co, refuse to work on my headlights... lol

$1800 is a fair price for me, a brand new set of this will cost you $5000 (CAD), that is what I got from a local store. I will go for the price, just need to make sure it has all the modules and functioning well.

I've had a bunch of people come and go, promising they would do this and do that, but at the end of the day, they've all disappeared. I don't know why its like that with lights So weird... but my plan (as of now), is to just buy the acrylic extrusions from bienarcus, then put the rest of it together myself. I really like his work. I used to be enamored with blueaudi8's work, but bienarcus' work makes his look like grade school stuff. From his pics, its on par with ONEighty NY and OSS. Just spot on. If it works out, i'd like for him to do all the skill work forming the DTM acrylic extrusions, and the rest i can do without too much hassle. i've already purchased a pair of spare halogens that i'm taking apart right now. This is a longer term back-burner project for me, as i've got other irons in the fire. Last edited by squidlyboy; 03-19-2015 at 11:15 PM.. |

...Which I should hopefully find out today, I've got the headlights and one leveler installed, just have to finish the rear one and do the wiring/coding and see how it turns out. |

Hey kapkanimd -
You getting a cut of this? I would either be incredibly flattered or incredibly pissed At the very least, autowin is making you famous Hope they are also giving you a small royalty ... hey man.. don't want to be a debbie downer here, but I think you might want to read that ad again. I don't think it includes all those components that are required for the full retrofit. the link to the lights only mentions the lights... doesn't mention anything about the other parts. the diy mentions those components but only in the context of needing them for retrofit.
if so, that's the worst deal you can get a pair of used oem xenons for $1800 when you can get them NEW as low as $1280 from partsale. For used ones on Ebay, they are going as low as $500-$600 a pair ... |

ECS Tuning has the same kit, and I've asked them about it, they list just the headlights alone at $1,900. I asked them if it was a total kit, and they told me it was just the Euro-spec lights and the wiring harness. They then went further into the details of doing a full swap, and since they had never sold the kit, they had to get with their supplier on it, and in order to do a full swap, you're looking at spending around 4 grand going this route after its all said and done, and that's also if you plan on doing it yourself.
