The 340i a Touring probably isn't a too common model. Maybe they do batches of them or something.

Does this mean you'll miss the MY17 updates by 2 weeks then?

Well it's now 4 months to the day since ordering.
Still at status 1100. Feeling pretty uninspired by the whole thing at the mo |

You must have the patience of a saint to still be waiting and not harassing dealer. I would be talking to other manufacturers about alternatives and likely delivery schedules by now... or looking for a storming deal on a run out 550i Touring....

Yes it looks likely to miss the new I-drive updates. Unfortunate, but I will get the car a few weeks earlier than was told only a couple of weeks ago!
I am not really that bothered as there is always the possibility of bugs in a revised system and the Carplay stuff to come later is really of no interest to me either. Given I keep my cars for a minimum of 4-5 years (9 years and counting for the current one), whatever system is in there will look pretty antiquated when I come to sell on with the pace of progress in electronics. |

Just says delays at BMW's end. I don't need the car until September, but that doesn't mean I don't want it 'early'. 4 months is a lot of time for the fun of specifying and ordering a new car to wear off...
Oh and I'm thoroughly fed up with the crappy engine/gearbox in my current Merc. As much as I like the rest of the car, I really will be happy to see that gearbox lurch off or flair the revs into the no power-band zone for the last time. |

Take a shot out in the Caterham, that'll take your mind off things for sure

Yes that does help (a lot!) when I can get out in it. Unfortunately the combo of work and a 1 year old (plus no family support) means time is very limited to get out in the Caterham. And then there's the weather...

Karma? Strange perception of the word you have there. Anyone would think you held a grudge that I drove your car before you did. The perils of buying a second-hand car. Caveat emptor. |
