Don't worry, it will go much faster after you take delivery.

North'ly wind would mean a lot of pitching not too bad it is easier to fix bumpers than the side of the car

Don't worry you should see how much protection there is on the car during transport. These ship are built to help easy lashing of the cargo too. I've been ship officer for many years.

SA is generally the better build plant for quality so the wait should hopefully be worth it !

Chugging north from South Africa? Must be heading straight to the Bermuda Triangle.

This boat has an intermediate destination of Vigo Spain - where it is supposed to arrive on the 13th of March. Not sure that it is going directly to New jersey after that because its not scheduled to arrive there until April 7. Seems like a long time to get across the Atlantic so I'm guessing it is stopping somewhere else in Europe or Great Britain 1st. Definitely taking the scenic route. Really cant complain too much - I ordered it last week in January and will probably get to dealer mid April. So that should be less than 3 months. Not quite the 5-7 weeks my dealer told me , but I may get away without removing the summer tires it comes with - probably will ditch them anyway since they are RFTs

Car was at the port waiting for the boat for about 7-10days.

Probably heading to Bremerhaven to pick up another load of bimmers before heading to the States is my guess. The wait is tough - I was checking the ships progress every day, but I look at it as the whole experience when ordering a car built to one's choices.

props for having patience to wait for delivery ... I would have went to the closest dealership and picked up one from their lot

I was willing - but searching far and wide for a 340i xdrive with a 6MT narrows things down quite a bit. I think there were three cars nationwide. Not really close to what I wanted. For 60k I want what I want.

And now my boat has stopped sending updated data to the tracking websites which all have it sitting off the western coast of south Africa and making no progress. Assuming the thing hasn't sunk (I assume that sort of thing would make headlines) I cant even watch it make progress. Genius still says due in New Jersey on Apr. 7. Just gotta chill.
