It's not really cracking. Take a look at that photo I posted earlier in the thread. The black part of the leather just comes off and you end up seeing a lighter colored material. Maybe the paint is coming off... I really don't know enough about how leather is made to know the exact term, but it's crappy leather. I ended up coloring it black with a sharpie, so now it's difficult to see the issue.

mines had stretch marks for a while
pretty much used to it, but will mention it to dealer on my next service, see what they do

I decided to just live with it knowing I won't keep this car for sure at the end of the lease.
Now it doesn't bother me that much knowing that the crease hasn't grown for the past 10,000km, and notice that most if not all other 3 series exhibit the same kind of wear. If only we had Audi or Benz quality of seats in our car... dL |

That is why I ordered leatherette with my car. Leatherette creases disappear when you leave it under the heat of the sun for a couple weeks. Leather creases don't disappear entirely.

Pretty pleased with my black leatherette seats. I figure that if they ever really bother me, I can put the money that I didnt spend on Dakota leather toward having the seats redone with something much nicer.
