It's not really cracking. Take a look at that photo I posted earlier in the thread. The black part of the leather just comes off and you end up seeing a lighter colored material. Maybe the paint is coming off... I really don't know enough about how leather is made to know the exact term, but it's crappy leather. I ended up coloring it black with a sharpie, so now it's difficult to see the issue.

I decided to just live with it knowing I won't keep this car for sure at the end of the lease.

Now it doesn't bother me that much knowing that the crease hasn't grown for the past 10,000km, and notice that most if not all other 3 series exhibit the same kind of wear.

If only we had Audi or Benz quality of seats in our car...

That is why I ordered leatherette with my car. Leatherette creases disappear when you leave it under the heat of the sun for a couple weeks. Leather creases don't disappear entirely.

Completely agree. Had Dakota on my e92 and was NOT impressed with it at all. Ordered SensaTec on my F30, and even though it doesn't have that BMW leather smell, the seats don't crease, wrinkle, etc. Happy with my decision....plus the people who have ridden in my car couldn't tell it's not real leather.

Yup I'm thrilled with the leatherette and this is the second car I've had with it. Looks like leather, feels like that Dakota stuff, zero maintenance.

Pretty pleased with my black leatherette seats. I figure that if they ever really bother me, I can put the money that I didnt spend on Dakota leather toward having the seats redone with something much nicer.

The seats are sealed so conditioning doesn't really do anything.
