Multiple malfunctions - LDW, cruise control, blind spot

My 2018 440 started having multiple errors - Cruise control malfunction, following by lane departure malfunction and then blind spot malfunction. I also noticed my steering wheel heater stopped working. The light comes on but no heat.

I have to assume it must be 1 common thing wrong or loose wire.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you checked the condition of your battery? Weird things like this can happen when the battery is going bad.

Thanks guys for input. I have appt set for card to be looks at. However - weird thing, all 4 issues went away a few days ago. So must be loose wire??

No errors and steering wheel heating again. Definitely all related.

Any idea what might be loose or could it be battery?

Intermittent faults tend to be in the wiring, usually a loose connector. Avoid the knee jerk reaction of assuming it's the battery, most of the time it isn't. Get a scanner, even if it's a freeware app. It will do at least 75% of what a dealer scan will do, and the dealer will charge you upwards of $100.

Thieves. Scanning tools were supposed to lower repair costs by making it easier to diagnose problems. Instead dealers use them as cash cows.

Your problem sounds like a classic bad clockspring. The clockspring is a module with a ribbon like cable that is wound in turns that gives the steering wheel buttons a connection between it and rest. It is delicate and breaks. You will have your issues coming in and out until one day the connection will break completely. Most likely.

My f31 had cruise control issues and other steering wheel issues until i replaced mine. I did it myself for $200 with a used Switch Cluster Steering Column assembly off ebay (making sure all my options match, like for like, this includes the clockspring already). If you're going through the dealer, expect to pay 1.5k-2k because the part alone new is ~$900

Google "bmw clockspring assembly" or "bmw Switch Cluster Steering Column" to understand it a little better.

here is an example of one. Try to find one for your model.

If you install it yourself be very careful to center the clockspring upon install.
Could also find one at a salvage yard.
