Screen on dash restarted??
Hey,
Just curious if anyone else has experienced it where the screen with radio, bluetooth, nav etc. turns off. I park in an underground garage that is probably about +10 degrees so I kind of want to lean away from the really cold weather being the cause. I left my undergound parking and was driving for about 20+ minutes (fully warm) and while I was on the phone via bluetooth the screen just went blank and then changed to "no signal" then went blank again then "no signal" and then eventually after maybe 1 or 2 more times turned back on and said "BMW connected Drive". I went for dinner where i parked outside in this -20 weather and on the way home no issues or anything weird. Anyone get "no signal" before or it just randomly turn off type thing. I never touched anything and it sorted itself out on its on. |

Happens on mine once in a blue moon. Seems to be more of an issue during cold winter months. I've heard that Bimmers tend to struggle with temps below -15c when the computer thinks the battery is too low. It causes all kinds of funky electronic problems apparently.

F22 here, happened twice since inception in Jan/16. The dealer has offered to update the software and claims it is a "fix". I have yet to find the time to deal with it. Probably will have them go through it thoroughly before my CPO ends in 2021...

I've had this happen on the odd occasion. Don't think there's anything to worry about.
I believe you can even force the iDrive system to reboot by holding the radio power button down for several seconds. |

There is a PuMa measure regarding the head unit(NBT) resetting intermittently or permanently.

Interesting. Hmm. I might take it in before warranty is up. Only concern is I had some coding done to change some items like bluetooth for music, disclaimers gone etc. which maybe they will claim void warranty on them fixing.
Maybe this is a one off and I will just ignore it. |

Took it in Tuesday and picked it back up today after they replaced the head unit.
If you experience it say "No Signal" try and get a picture as it seems to help. They started off saying if they can't find a code or see it malfunction I would be charged diagnostic fees etc. Once I showed them a picture and the service advisor asked me to email it them they didn't mention anything else other then we are replacing it for you. |
