Entry to nbt idrvie touch and emulator question

I'm installing nbt coming from hu entry and before starting the instal I plugged in the new touch controller and it worked fine but now installing the nbt with emulator I'm wondering can I keep the idrive controller plugged into the original connector and plug the touch ecu in the emulator side connection? Basically the emulator came with its own harness with the idrive controller connection. Is that possible to have the idrive controller on one side of the emulator and the ecu on the other or do I have to wire it up different to where they both wired on the emulator side of the harness?? Hope that makes sense. Thank you.
