I have too many hobbies... (roof rack coming!)
After months, I finally finished restoring this:
1962 English-made 3 Speed so I picked this up from REI tonight: Sometime this week, I'll roll by McKenna to pick up the OEM base rack so I can mount it all up. Hopefully I can restrain myself from picking up a rear diffuser although I have the M Performance exhaust on the way that could definitely complement. More pics to follow...

Bikes look sick! Seriously, you need to cut down on your hobbies, haha. It's eating into your modding budget! Get the diffuser if you can. Without looks great too, but I think it finishes off the rear nicely. Now get that roof wrapped!

Thanks! The grey one is my old fixie that I sold to my enthusiast homie from my Nissan days. The black one is my current ride. I also need to pay for track time next month. I need to win the lottery or something.

Or subject yourself to medical testing. Can't wait to see the roof rack on. I love it when sporty cars transform into mini sav's.

That's just sick! Love it!
Now hurry up and put your exhaust on, haha.

Yeah I need to do that, might do it myself so I gotta source an exhaust cutter. Also, still debating on doing the rear diffuser at the same time but I should get a front lip first.

I'm fighting hard internally not to get a MTB, but I know eventually I'll end up getting another bike either something much lighter in road bike form or MTB.

I LOVE going out there and riding in the trails. This sport forces you to really disconnect from everything else (work, stress etc) Pure enjoyment. And if you don't disconnect you'll end against a tree. lol
Here is something said in the MTB world tho: I suggest you try both, I do both, but MTB is def. my thing. Last edited by pablobaq; 05-02-2014 at 06:47 PM.. Reason: other |

My only qualms are that I wish the BMW OE one was lower profile, thinner and had an optional front faring.

Have you check out the Whispar rack system?

On top bike holders are dangerous when operated/maintained poorly.
Rather get one for the back if you have a trailer thing.

I have and couldn't justify the price compared to what I paid for the BMW OE one. It's just minor and I only keep the rack on the car when I'm taking the bike somewhere and that's rare.

It's Thule's most simple rack, Xpress 970, mounted on the towbar without need of any tools.
But I don't think it's available in the US since Europe and US has different standars on towbars. A link to the rack on Thule UK's page: thule.com |
