You can also get that on other cars, just add the M peformance brakes to the optionslist and the M sport package, you get M badges everywhere, with every vehicle.

Sure, but when "m-sport" cars have more ///M badges than true ///M cars, it's a bit sad.

That is true, the only angle that it works at...lol.

In diesel form, a great alternative to an SUV...I could convince my wife to get one for sure, maybe...

This almost makes the new 1 series look good

I have a suggestion for BMW
Why not just stick the M badge on every car they make?
Screw it, lets stop calling them BMWs and just call them all Ms
335, M335M, M3, and ofcourse the M3M
I mean if you're gonna whore something out, at least whore it good

I'm a touring fan, and I like the GT a lot... Looks like I'm part of the minority here on BP. Also is that alcantara interior for the US market??? If so count me in!

I don't know if anyone noticed but this car is really big. A 3-Series with 4824mm length? that's clearly 5-series territory.

I checked - it's bigger than E39 Touring in every dimension excluding front overhang.

I like it, I like the 5GT as well, this looks like it would make a great family car, it has more usable space then the touring, I bet this will sell well in Europe.

I would rather see the 5 door 1 series. But, there will be folks that really like this car. Interesting move. Not my cup of tea, but not a hater.

The GT has almost an inch more rear headroom, and more legroom. You should check your facts before you make assumptions...one reason the vehicle is taller is to provide more room and comfort and easier ingress/egress. Being able to lock things up in the hatch area unlike the touring is also a factor to some people. As you get older, taller is easier to access. I hate knocking my head getting into a 3-series sedan (and the 5, too), but the GT is easier.

Its not bad looking.. It looks just like any other bimmer with that Msport pack. That said, I wouldn't buy one and I don't think BMW should waste money on GT. BUT this GT is not bad.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

BMW has a great design for folding rear seats on the sedan and coupe. The head rests are separate from the folding seatback so the seats fold nearly flat without having to remove the headrest. This makes the coupe, in particular, vastly more practical than it's competitors (esp the Infiniti G37 coupe).

But the folding rear seats are a rare option on the sedan. I buy used so I can't order this stuff, and I also demand a manual tranny.

My solution? The coupe. Oddly enough, the coupe ends up being a little more practical for me. It is a little longer. The folding rear seats are standard. The manual tranny is less rare. My bikes slip in the back fine. I even have a custom trunk liner that is expandable for when the rear seats are folded down.

If I were king? Make split folding seats standard on the sedan, and make the coupe trunk a hatchback if it could be done without changing the styling or compromising the structure.

The GT would seem to be aimed at someone like me, I love all the extra space and accessibility of the trunk. But damn, man, you are forced to look at it every time you walk up to it. It is the automotive equivalent of a 2 bagger.

I am perfectly happy with my 3 coupe SUV!
DAMN Man you are EXACTLY like me, and I mirror your sentiments exactly. I get stares at ever cycling event i go to when I take my cycle out of my coupe... I LOVE MY E92... if the F32 (4-series) is similar.. I will be for sure to get one in the future MANUAL (pleasure to read this post) ~Frost

A while ago, there was a night I thought about why didn't I buy a 5GT. Obviously, it wasn't a pretty car, but it's practical and it's still a BMW. Next day I woke up and realized I took my day-time medication last night. Maybe that was the reason I got a little brain damage and even considered the 5GT. No offenses to GT owners, I am sure there are proper reasons for them to choose 5GTs over other vehicles, but it is just not for me.

Just wanted to say that the Performance infos about 318d and 320d are wrong. 7.9 sec to 100km/h for the 318d it's just not there...that info is from 320i. And 5.4 sec to 100km/h for the 320d again it's just imposibru. That info again comes from another engine,335i.

Beautiful car.
