+1. Also a lot of the big brand forged don't come in 18's. I went with arc-8's. considered beysian but found a bunch of threads on them having full failures.

That said, OZ's make a good track wheel due to price. I'm personally not a fan of their look on a bmw, but who cares. Cheap to replace annually.

Amen, all OZ wheels are TUV certified just like BMW OEM, BBS, HRE, and few others.
They are well worth of money..not expensive at all!

Low pressure cast (e.g. OEM BMW, non-forged OZ/Avant Garde/BBS, etc.) can be pretty good. But flow formed are typically lighter and stronger. Kinda the middle ground between cast and forged.

From tirerack,

The High Light Technology (HLT) process used in the manufacturing of select O.Z. Racing wheels uses rollers to compress and elongate the material along the barrel of a low-pressure cast aluminum wheel to obtain the desired profile. This process, which is directly derived from O.Z.'s experience in F1, produces wheels that are extremely light and strong.

The flow forming process and the HLT technologies combine to create mechanical characteristics similar to those of a forged wheel. This permits a dramatic reduction in wheel weight while enhancing structural rigidity vs. a standard cast wheel.

OZ is one of the first company came with flow form cast wheels and now they add HLT tech which makes it even stronger than before.

Yes, to be clear, OZ actually makes wheels by all 3 processes... forged, flow formed & cast (both gravity and low pressure)

I would say O.Z.s are the best "budget" wheel you can buy. I wouldn't swap OEM wheels for anything less.

Apex Arc-8 and TSW Bathurst are the lightest rotary forged (same as flow formed/forged) wheels

the most reasonably priced fully (mold/form) forged are from BC Forged, Advan Racing's RS-DF, RZ-DF, GT and a several styles from Rays/Volk Racing. these offerings start at $750 per wheel, though.

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/products/choose.php?lang=en

i have Volk Racing G25 on Bridgestone Potenza S-04, 18x8 +45(w/5mm spacer) 245/40 front and 18x9 +50 255/40 rear. i suggest Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires instead since they are better and much lighter than the S-04's. not sure how much larger m-performance brakes are but there is ample room around my M-Sport Brakes

they look good! do you think there are space for 370mm front rotors? I believe m sport brakes are 340mm front (except for 335 or 435) and m performance is 370mm at front.

370mm? i don't think it will fit. that's 15mm more radius. you may have to increase to 19" wheels

the M-Perf Brakes fit under your 400M wheels?

i tried to get a tape ruler back there but it was too difficult. there is a lot of room with m-sport calipers however if you increased the rotor radius 15mm it (assuming m-perf and m-sport calipers are the same size) would be real close.

M Performance/M Sport Brake Option brakes should fit under 400M since that's what my car came with from the factory...

if it fits under these 18" bmw wheels, i suspect it would fit under the volks or most any other 18" aftermarket wheel. (except some 18" enkei i've read about that rubbed the m-sport caliper)
