I was thinking the same thing. The 335/435 are basically the same car sans the doors. I also prefer four doors for my DD.

i have never owned a 4 door so i can't speak for others

as for me, 2 doors always give me the excuse to never have anyone in my backseat (unless of course i'm carrying hot chicks)

Never really understood this idea. There's a compromise to an extent, but why wouldn't you want both if attainable? Nevertheless, we're driving 3 and 4 series cars that aren't the zenith of performance, so they better be somewhat efficient and appeal in other ways.

With your logic we should only have rockets available for purchase. No diesel rockets of course...the range would be too much.

Well it's a matter of opinion. It's a fantastic sports coupe and I personally feel there should be limitations in order to preserve the exclusivity of the brand.

I asked the dealer about this when I bought my F30 335i. The guy I dealt with said that with the amount of people that lease cars they pride themselves on getting people in exactly the style car they want. I didn't really agree on this one - but he said that some people that want to get in an X6 but they can't get the payments where they want them, they will have them sit in a 5-series GT - big ass, more utility but cheaper.

With the 420i - they are just getting the market for people who would have gotten the 325i Coupe in previous models. IMO they make way too many different models - I think they would be better off just offering 328/335, 428/435 for the F30 and F32 models.

This is going to come off a little harsh but here goes...if that's what you want, get a more exclusive car and not one of the most accessible BMW models.

I believe BMW should have only produced the 335/M3 and 435/M4.

Actually, let's keep it inline with the 550 and 650 models...350/M3 and 450/M4.

The 335 is the equivalent to the 550 in size class. 435/650.

If I were BMW this is how it would pan out for cars:

228/235
328/335
428/435
535/550
640/650
640GC/650GC
750/760

M3, M4, M5, M6 and an M7 (not the Alpina to stay in line with the A8)

It's pretty funny how people are talking about exclusivity on a forum for BMW's entry-level line...

Entry level? It's a super duper, luxury, extra premium, performance car!

Just get rid of every car below 550.

^This
Exclusivity is a mirage in this segment.

That's what they do in Canada, but probably more for cost effectiveness as Canada is a much smaller market

Exclusive? I see at least 20 F3x's on a daily basis and my commute is five minutes each way (unless I stop at the grocery, then it's 10 minutes). BMW are not and should not be exclusive. BMW is an everyday car unless you get into the M series (even then, it's not exclusive).

Aston's, Maserati's and McLaren's? Those are "exclusive" brands. Yet, I see two to three Aston's/Masi's a day and at least one McLaren every weekend.

Lol. As do I. They are pretty standard in Irvine/Newport.

F30s are common...

No wonder there's some F32 envy evident here.
