Brake pad service reminder on startup
Does anyone else have this whereby every time I start the car there is a message in the instrument cluster saying brakes pads due in 6k miles?
I mean I can understand it if it's in 1k miles but 6k, is that not a bit far off to be reminded about? |

Not about brake pads, but I have about next inspection.... in 29 000 km !!
Annoys me as well! It should only remind when it comes close. 29 000km? Seriously? Should I schedule an appointment? On Audi it reminds I believe 1000km or 1 month before the required service. No way to code these to not show if that far ahead in time?

I'll have to have a look on ESYS to see if I can code it out |

Doesn't bother me at all, as they go away in a few seconds.

I noticed that mine will always show the next service due, whatever it may happen to be. Since it goes off in 30 seconds or so it doesn't bother me enough to bother with coding it out.

It's just wrong. Most cars welcome you with something more pleasing than reminding you about costly maintenance....

Not at all. But I consider "no news - good news". You sound like an aviation engineer I know who tried to convince that the good thing about regular nuisance warnings (normally considered absolutely unacceptable!) is that these prove the warning system actually works
