I think I'd seriously consider a B3 before an M3.

The car is sick but Alpina needs to seriously think about a new wheel design..instead of the same style wheels for the past 20 years.

I feel like their outdated wheel design goes well with their outdated exterior adornments to make a surprisingly modern package. I know that makes no sense, but the formula works. I keep on imagining that car lowered with spacers, and it just looks so right. The Alpina pin-striping down the side needs to go. Peel that shit off please!

Gorgeous car in their famous Alpina blue. Its too bad the B3 is not available here, could provide serious competition for the coming M3/M4.

Very pretty. Only thing I don't like is the front bumper still seems too much like normal, which I'm not a fan of. Other than m sport that is.

I don't understand why only the XD3 is based on the M Sport model, the others are based on base lines/ sport lines

Probably for two reasons:

1) Alpina buyers probably prefer the slightly less shouty looks of the standard models

2) If Alpina sold them looking like M-sports with additional Alpina Aero, with this performance, that would be a massive threat to the M3/M4, so I doubt BMW would let them.

... as it is at the moment, M and Alpina products cater for two distinct tastes, albeit with the common goal of high performance.

Since there is no high performance X3, it doesn't tread on BMW's toes.

As for Alpina not selling these in the US.. since the B7 got abit of a hammering in a review against the RS7, I'm wondering if their engines don't work so great on your fuel maybe? That's a total guess...?

M is for people who want a sportscar, with a nice interior and luxury options.

Alpina is for people who want a luxury/exclusive car, with a nice sporty performance.

Alpina cars do not get the "track car" abilities, that M cars normally do get. (still to be seen with upcoming S55 models)

Until Alpina starts selling cars here in the states all us Yanks can do is dream of owning one, good news for us is that the M3 F30 is coming next year.

I'm not sure guys, that new front bumper really makes it looked snub nosed. Beautiful paint though. Still not worth leaving the E92 though.

That snub nosed look is what I love about the F-Series in general.
