It's really all about weight reduction.... Every little bit counts. Smile
90% of the people on the road have no idea of 1 BMW to the other. All they see is the BMW roundel and know it's a BMW. The letters and numbers confuse them. It's a personal choice and I don't think owners debadge to try and be perceived as something else. I debadged on my 07 335i because I changed the trunk. I had no intentions of doing so until then. I didn't/won't debadge my F30. |

Actually I think a lot or most people know there is a difference between a 335i and a 328i. At least they know one has a bigger engine and is more expensive. What the vast majority of people don't know is the exhaust layout.
I've never thought about de-badging, but I'm thinking about it now because it is a wee bit of a pain to dry and wax around the numbers. Holy cow, especially waxing. But, for all the people who care, I want the badge for resale. So, I'll de-badge myself. |

I de - badged my AW 335 because you can't even see the badge against the white body and the badges are a PIA to clean around.
boltjames --- Where are you coming up with the idea all 335s are built in SA ? My 335 was built in Munich. |

Edit: Mine was built in Munich too. I specifically asked for that since I took the tour awhile back after ordering my 325i from there. Made the experience better for me. Should have ordered the "Trophy Wife" option though

As long as its from Germany, your 335i is valid. Yours was built for the Autobahn, not the rain forest. BJ |

I like the badge look. Never de-badged any of my BMWs and I don't intend on de-badging my 328i either. It's a classy looking badge.

I was on the fence before picking up my car but, now that I have it, I think it looks good with the badge. Maybe I'll de-badge later on, but I'm happy with the way it is
And to answer the OPs question, I haven't noticed 328i owners de-badging more often then 335i owners. I hardly ever see de-badged Bimmers, in general. |

I am rebadging however not the series at the back of the car, but the sport line emblem.
