2016 340ix B58 F30 Wiper Blades

Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. But let me know!

Can anyone confirm the wiper blades sizes for the 2016 340ix?
Is it 19’’/24’’ or 17’’/24’’?
Which wiper blades do you guys like to use? All recommendations are welcomed!

Thanks,
Mike

Don't know about the size, but all the books at auto parts stores have a cross-reference that shows it so it doesn't really matter.

I've got Bosch replacements that I bought at O'Reilly's. Direct fit with no adapter fiddling, but they aren't a great fit in the wiper arm.

That is absolutely true, but wanted to hear the general consensus from the forums. Also there are a few reviews on Amazon regarding the Bosch wipers and not all of them fit the BMW windshield wiper connectors. That is why I was inquiring about the brand and size.

Someone on other forums stated that F30s use 24’’/17’’ but after doing some research myself, I am convinced it should be 24’’/19’’.

Just want a confirmation and any recommendations for wiper blades that will fit BMWs without any issues. Or is buying blade inserts from dealerships the best way to go?

Thanks!

Just out of curiousity...why are you looking for aftermarket wiper blades? Wouldn't the dealership be a good source for them? I mean unless you got a parts quote from them for $100 bucks each...

I called the dealership and they are selling wiper blade inserts for $60 a pair. That is just insane. And I also want to avoid going to the dealership cause it is time consuming and kind of far from where I am.

That is why I was looking into aftermarket. The convenience of having it delivered and cheaper prices.

But if BMW is the most optimal place, I will order from there.

Thanks,

Try getbmwparts.com, a pair is $46.68 and you get 2 year warranty, unlimited mileage @ any US dealership, with them

And they ship to you...so bonus.

I wouldn't mess with aftermarket. At least not for wiper blades. You run the risk of aftermarket not fitting and the headache that goes with all that.

Thank you! I will look into this.

This sounds like the best option thus far.

Best,
Mike

One thing I’ve noticed while browsing around www.getbmwparts.com, when I shop by model and look up models by year, 2016 BMWs do not show up. They have everything up to 2015.

Do they have 2016 products on their website for sale? If not, would the 2015 fit the 2016?

Thanks!

Sounds good and thanks again for all the info. I will try and reach out to sponsors for details.
To avoid any issues, I might just grab a pair from the dealership.

I either use OEM refills or Bosch ICONs. Never had a fitment issue with ICONs and no adapter required

If you have a good Service Advisor (and I do), he'll have them changed once/year during your free maintenance period (and that included the rear one on my F31).

Trying to avoid the dealership though, especially if its regarding wiper blades. I'll call my SA tomorrow and see what he says. I'll only go if I don't have to wait 2-3 hours.

Thanks!

I've tried the Bosch & rain-x blades and they are both horrendous IMO. I bought a set of factory blades for about $50 from the dealer when I had car in for oil change and have zero complaints about them (SA had them installed for me no charge too!).

I was told by my Service Advisor that BMW will provide free wipers every year. It is included in the Free Maintenance 4Years/50K Miles.

It does, for '16's and older. The move to 3 years of maintenance also removed wiper blades from the plan for '17's, I think.

Yes. I think they removed few other things as well.

The BMW ones are made by Valeo and are the Silencio X.TRM Flat. If you can find them cheaper in the correct size, get them, most people on the UK forum do. If not, then stick with the dealers IMO.

Googling "Silencio X.TRM Flat" brings up PIAA wiper blades. Most of the first-page results are in the UK. $99/pair is steep! Our local dealer is cheaper than that.
