3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) LCI prototype spotted

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I parked next to this zebra'd car today. At first I thought it was just another ///M Wanna Be that's trying to get attention... (we get a lot of those epic fails in SoCal). Then after a closer look, I started wondering if it was legit... It is April Fools Day after all! LOL!

Turns out it's a 3 Series Gran Truismo LCI prototype.

This is most definitely an LCI F34 3 series Gran Turismo. Same fender openings and same rear quarter windows.

Notice the 50 aspect ratio on the tire. NOT 4 GC

Because GT sales were dismal for the 3 and 5 series models. They have been superseded by the Gran Coupes.

BMW, please make it stop.

Sales for the 3GT were dismal? Do you have #'s?

Weird that the Hofmeister kink is missing.
That's a signature BMW styling cue.

scratching my head on this one... we sell every single 3 GT we can get our hands on... frankly almost can't get enough of them. For us at least it also outsells the 4 GC by a considerable margin as the 4er cannot compete/compare on size and space.

I'll 2nd this. My BMW Center does very well with them.

There's more rear legroom in the 3GT vs. normal 3s and 5s, which is a huge selling point. The rear hatch provides huge square-footage and there's a bit more ground clearance than the normal 3 Series.

A lot of folks embrace these characteristics, and get over the looks very quickly.
