Multiple Security Deposits

OK, just got off the phone with my SA and he broke it down like this.

The security buy rate starts at .00175 so at 7 MSD I can get it down to .00126

The BMW lease MF rate for this month is .00130.

So, I would only gain a .0004 savings on using 7 MSDs.

Multiple Security Deposits are new to me, so does this sound right or is he blowing smoke up my...

I assumed that Mutliple Secruity deposits decrease .0007 per MSD on the current MF rate not some other rate he is talking about.

He is BS'ing you. Ask him how does this make any sense: using his example, let's say you put down 6 MSDs, your effective MF will be 0.00133? 0.00003 higher then the normal rate without ANY MSD?

I brought this scenario during our conversation and he said, that is why I'm not recommending it...

So where do I go from here, who can I talk to. I special ordered this car...should I give BMWFS a call or as to talk to the leasing manager.

Start by dealing with an SA & dealership that isn't high on meth. PM user GOLFFRR, I've bought two of my cars from him and there's no BS involved with him or his dealership. They can always have the car shipped to you. Is the car already at the dealership or is it being built?

It's at the Dealership. Is GOLFFRR dealership in OC?

The MF is .0013, not the .0017x he's quoting you. He's trying to make pure profit at your expense. Tell him the MF is .0013 and 7 MSD's buys you down to .00081. If he keeps BSing you, then walk away.

he's quoting me .0013 but says that i would be buying down at the rate of .00175, which doesn't make any sense to me. Just sent him an email, going to see where it goes.

Thanks!

He's BS'ing you. You aren't buying down from .00175. The base rate at BMW is .0013. So you would be buying down from that. Move on to another dealership if he doesn't want to do that.

screw it, i'm going to buy the car. Was contemplating which way I went anyways...Since i ordered the car back in Dec, I qualified for the 1k rebate.

I have 2 little kids and it might be a good idea to just buy the thing...

Don't make a rash decision just because the SA is being an a**hole. Ask to talk to the GM - the base rate is .0013 and you are allowed to buy the MSDs down from that rate.

I see your point, but I was on the fence at either leasing or buying...and this just tipped it for me. At least with buying there isn't a bunch of hidden BS.

We already negotiated at 45,115 + 1k rebate

for

2013 335
Glacier Silver
6mt
M-Sport
19" Wheels.

MSRP: 48,695

Ok - not a bad deal. $100 over + 1k rebate brings you 900 under invoice. Did you get the $750 owner loyalty?

Did not qualify for loyalty. Have to have owned a BMW in the last 12 months and haven't owned one since 2009.

Picked up car tonight, I was in and out in less than 1 hr. Car looks beautiful it doesnt feel as quick as my e90 335 but still more than enough power! Interior is superior over the e90 and the front end, side and 3/4 profile is so much better looking imo. The only thing that is plain is the rear end but adding a lip spoiller should help with that.

On the fence of adding front lip spoiler and will get black grills as well

Hello. I did 7 MSD's on my lease in December. If I trade in my lease to another dealer, like a Mercedes dealer this month, will I get the MSD's since technically the Mercedes dealer is buying the car?

You should get them back. That's money you put down as a security deposit to lower your rate. They wont' give it to MB (unless of course the value of the car they give is lower than what your buyout is)...
At least that's what BMWFS told me.
