Power to dashcam

Hi guys
I have ordered a Blackvue DR650S-2CH dash cam kit and I also want to install a Blackvue Power Magic Pro to my 330e.

Question, is this an issue installing it in a hybrid due to battery drain etc?
Does anyone know how to install the magic pro to the 330e? Specifically looking for what fuses I need to tap into.

Thanks.

I can't speak to your 330e battery question or what fuse # to use, but....you could try this solution and tap to your mirror. Super easy. I've tapped my mirror for my radar detector.

Looks like a real clean solution.
Will this provide parking mode recording for the Vue or only recording while driving?
And will this be ok for a Blackvue DR650s-2CH to power?

Is it really as simple as the picture? No splicing or wire cutting? It appears that you just insert the metal ends of the cable into the backside of the connector for the mirror and presto, power to the dashcam. Seems too simple haha

Yes in fact your model is available in the drop down choices. For the recording while parked not 100% sure but you can enquire on the site.

Yes that simple. No slicing or cutting etc. Took me less than 10 minutes. If your vehicle is a 2015+ you'll be plugging into the rain sensor.

Awesome. Do you have to take off the mirror plastic housing where the cables are?

Exactly. You just split the seam slightly and pull apart, pretty hard. Might feel like you'll break it but shouldn't. Mine didn't and I did 3 times!

Worst case if you broke the clips on one side of the mirror cover...order a new one. I checked before I started and I think it was around $50...

You'll be fine

The tap is basically a flat piece of metal held there by friction. If you're handy with a soldering iron and don't want to spend $20, just flatten then tin a piece of wire to get the same thing. That's what I did.

I'll have to double check, but I thought my 2016 had a cable plugging into the rearview camera. Do you have any pics of the installation process you followed?

Search for a thread by Vivalareagan when he first got his car lots of pics and detailed instructions. It's literally a 5 minute piece of cake job a child could do it.
