OP, I feel like you've made yourself clear to them already. You both mentioned it and straight up told them they're damaging the grass; in which they denied tire marks. Tell them again that you're planning to do some landscaping/shrubbery/flowers there and would appreciate it if they can stop so the soil can recover first. If they refuse you, there's no further use in being polite.

Large "decorative" boulders are the solution, provided they won't desist if you ask them to.

OP, I appreciate your desire to maintain peace with your neighbors. I think you have to face the fact that they apparently don't give 2 sh!ts about maintaining peace with their neighbor.

That said, you have 2 choices. Issue an ultimatum, which probably won't work and will escalate the entire situation. Or - as others have already suggested - take the nonconfrontational approach and create a barrier to their cars in the grassy area.

I agree with the idea of landscape boulders. First, they can be decorative, and shouldn't be hard to find. Second, and more importantly, a rock (unlike a fence or a planting) can't be damaged, but sure as hell can inflict damage if the dicks try to cross over to your driveway. Imagine the satisfaction you will derive: you avoid escalating the problem, you nonconfrontationally solve the problem, and you get to laugh your ass off if they try to cross over to your driveway (and damage their vehicles). Win, win, win!

I can think of one nice thing about this: at lest they're parking on the driveway instead of the street. After the rocks go in they'll probably just park on the street...maybe in front of your house.

Or Park your car on the street blocking your part of the driveway and make sure it is your half you are blocking while leaving the other half unblocked to where if they back out and hit your car it will be their fault

Then you tell them that everyday you have to go around their cars while their cars are on your side of the driveway so why is it that they can't go around your car while your own car is on your on your own side Tell them that everyday you were careful not to hit their car by going around their car as you pulled in and out of your own driveway because their car was on your side. Make sure to take pictures everyday of their cars on your side

At the bottom of the driveway split the driveway into 2 halves with 1 half for them and 1 half for you. Be very sure that you are not on their half because if they back up and hit your car on their half your case won't be strong against them.

the OP will definitely need to make a choice.

What's worse? Driving across the grass, or having people park in front of your house?

If you were to ever convince them to stop cutting across your lawn, they sound too lazy to shuffle cars, and will probably park on the street anyways. It's definitely easier than moving cars. However, if they care at all about their cars, they would probably avoid putting their cars on the street (always risk of drive-by damage), and either shuffle or drive over their lawn.

I still say put rocks along your shared property line and along the front of the house lining the street. This way, you won't have them drive across, and there's a good chance they could damage their passenger door when someone swings it open smashing a rock.

If I was them, I would rather park in front of my own house with no rocks, vs a neighbor with rocks.

Another thought: if they do park in front of your house, make sure you aim your sprinklers to get a bit of the road. Combine this with mowing your lawn cutting real close to their car, wet clippings I HATE. If they don't get the clue, add some little pebbles to your front area, and run your mower along it.

This is an interesting situation.
Lets all be honest, would you feel more comfortable approaching your neighbours about this issue if they were white?

They could be just as rude, but at least they'd speak the same language.

If you look at Brey335i sig pic and turn the brightness up on your screen, you can see the neighbor's car in their driveway and the grass strip divding them:

I agree with the big rock ideas, I would do the same thing.

Or I'd put this in the grass if you want to catch them in the act and see all of their tires deflated once they get on the road and you come out and say "told you to stay off my driveway, see what happens when you don't listen?!"

Hopefully they will realize they have to get 4 tires replaced at their igorance and at their expense...

but then I would be concerned with kids if they walk on the grass and stepped on this...

Reread his post. He's already approached them, apparently more than once. The issue is not his comfort in approaching them, the issue is their lack of response/respect to his request.
