Background Facts:

- I'm almost a complete newbie on this coding. I have just read the data off the car and haven't tried coding anything in just yet.

- The car is F30 328i Thailand spec. The HP of the car is locked to 218hp instead of 245hp for other countries because of tax reasons (>220hp more tax). To the best of my knowledge, the physical engine itself is the same to other countries but the lock is applied via coding.

- From the data I extracted from the car, there's an option called "8SH Thailand Engine" which I suspect is the culprit for this lock.

- Q: Do other countries have similar option called "8XX XXXX Engine"?
- Q: Is it possible to code this option out and would it "unlock" the full hp?
- Q: Do I need the token for this or can I just VO to the car? (whatever that means)

Ultimately, I'm just looking to get the full potential for the money I paid for so any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately you wont be able to change Power class just by coding car. Power values are locked by DME motorhours.

thats pretty unfortunate....but props to you for trying to do it. I had no idea BMW was detuning engines for specific locales.
