Did anyone figure out what this sound is?

EDIT: And yes, to me this is not a "little" issue. I'll sell the car if this can't be fixed!!
Interference between your radio, the computer in the car, and your cell phone. I was told keep the cell far away as possible. Like in your arm rest area or somthing along those lines.

Nothing to do with cell phone...

Give a small amount of gas as you drive til you hit 2500 to 3000 rpm and keep it there, do you hear it?? ( engine must be warm to hear it....once warm you can put it on park and rev til 2500 rpm and you can hear it than...is that the high pitch frequency kind of whirring...whistling you hear?

Not the cell at all, you're correct. It's actually a whistle from the ac lines. When the ac is off it does it. When the car is shut off after a drive it does it. Some sort of vacuum system. The "fix" turn on the ac and let it run for a sec, turn it off. It won't do it anymore. Still strange IMO.

At mine its more kinda chime sound, heard it first after recoding one of my keys. Comes little out from dashboard, and drops immediately after increasing speed. When slowing down, it comes on again. Some time it has disappeared, dunno what this causes or means, was just annoying.

Go to your dealer to have them read the code. One module related to the fan might be broken. Mine is ordered and will be replaced next week.

F2x and F3x cars have an issue with a high-pitched noise coming from the center A/C vents which can be difficult to duplicate. Ask your dealer to refer to SI B64 09 15. They need to install a parts kit.

This is applicable North America-wide I'm guessing? My CPO 328i is starting to do this with less than 40,000km on it. I wouldn't mind getting it fixed especially if they are obligated to do so under warranty. I find that it goes away occasionally when I tap my brakes. It'll fade out on it's own eventually, but I'm experiencing the same exact noise that everyone here is hearing as well.

Hi all,

I'm having the same issue with my F20 116i, a strange noise (like slow morse code) from the dashboard.
It happens to me twice already and I cant define the cause (it happens on high/low speeds and even when standing still).

Anyone have a solution for this?

** I Identified the problem, I have Nav system on a separated computer that projects to the i-Drive screen (mine is touch) and there might be a problem with that.
