I bought my E90 while I was stationed in the UK, but since I only had six months left on my tour there, I didn't have to convert all of the lights. The most expensive part would have been having to buy UK spec xenons.

At least in case of Germany importing a car from the US / Mexico only makes sense if you do not have to pay the tax and customs duty (which is about 30% of the cars value). Otherwise you don't save anything and you have a lot of effort on top. I will be in Mexico for about one more year, so for me this is not an issue.

Did anybody meanwhile figure out whether it is possible to make the rear foglight work?

I've someone in Germany sending me the new light switch, can't find it here in the US. I had this feature in my Saab 93 before I upgraded to my 328 and really loved it. Being from north east USA everyone knows to turn headlights on in rain or anything... here in the south maybe half the people do! Rear fog lights really help with visibility in heavy rain and fog... I am quite fond and will let ya know if I can make them work.

You know you could just go to ecstuning.com and order one, probably a lot faster than coming from Germany.

I purchased the switch from ECS tunning. It does not work as a simple drop in. I'm still trying to figure out what is needed to get it to work.

Hate those Audis with blinding rear fogs all the time in a clear night. They cause people not in the know to break -

You probably need to get it coded.....

This kinda sucks as we did not have to do anything special for rear fogs besides getting the euro switch on the E9X cars. It was just plug and play.

I am 100% sure coding will activate them.

Their website very clearly states ..."Swap switches; get rear fogs. No coding. No parts to add. No wiring to run." Hopefully they will help get to the bottom of how to make this work and/or update their website accordingly...
