Yes, it's at S2 on the left and number position (4).
Well actually 5 times, if you want to count it D and 0 position. But I initially my car was on default factory position for few weeks, then I increased it to number 1, left it for another week, then I went directly to number 4 in hope that nothing wont go wrong. Overall there is huge difference how the car pulls compared with Racechip Ult. I really didn't have a chance to properly record my 80-180 km/h runs, but per some calculations, and crap mobile recording I was below 12 sec range with only me sitting in the car. I'm confident with afe stage 2 intake the car will be at least half a sec faster, and I plan to do proper shooting once the winter is over. Good luck guys! edit: I found one of the recordings which is acceptable to watch, and you will see that I start my run from 3.5k RPM. If I did it in lower gear at much higher RPM, I'm sure the run would be at low 11-even higher 10 sec. Which is clearly 335i range. Last edited by Yellowflash; 01-04-2015 at 05:01 AM.. |

So your car came in position D? Mine came in C, I did notice slight improvement in C but not I increased to D after 24hours and 30-35 miles. in D everything was feeling much better with amazing MPG improvement even when I remember in stock (w/o RC) i wasn't able to achieve those MPG average driving the same way I was with RC installed. Then came E, then came F, and now I'm on 0 .. will prob increase in another 50 miles (it's raining lately here) to 1. So it looks like 4 is prob the sweet spot as 7 is the highest setting and 8 is the lowest. I have a hangout/meet with a few Bmw in 2-3 weeks so I need to be able to beat my X3 35i buddy lol or at least go neck to neck in our 0-60 run.

Actually, I just checked my mails with Racechip and it arrived in C settings by default.
I never tried D position, as I went to 1-4 setting afterwards, so honestly I can't see any MPG improvement as I can't resist to go WOT after the engine is warmed up properly. O I bought this baby to enjoy it, but yes I recall that there was slight better MPG during D position while driving 130km/h on highway compared without RC piggyback., and yes MPG is better when driving 150km/h. But tell me on which setting did you notice the best MPG improvement as I will switch to it on my next big road trip. |

Best MPG improvement I can say is D/E, I didn't get to check C and F was minor. I am on 0 right now so will update in a few hours when i drive again but I think it's doing good/better than F maybe. My bmw connected app status said 5.0 gal left 118 miles odometer 14930 on Friday night when I last used the car, then this morning after I drove to work (mostly cruising at 65-80) then 5-10 minute cursing at 55-65 with 2 stop lights my bmw connected status is showing 5.0 gal left 109 miles odometer 14949

Mine came in C too, now on D and MPG is great.Next week i will go to E.
As it is now, there is little sound of the blowoff (in BMS stage 2 you can hear it louder and the car is louder on the exhaust too, so i believe is because it is running higher psi). Very please by the moment with the moderate power/torque combo. |

But are you saying B = 0, C=1, D=2, E=3, F=4 ? "Yes the highest setting on the RaceChip is position 7 but it is not equal the highest position for the engine. So we recommend to increase the power step by step. No position C is much less power than position 1. Every step you get higher you will get about 1,5 % more power. There are even four steps between C and 1."

The way you change the settings on RaceChip is directly from the unit, you unscrew some screws and with the small tool they provide (1 side to unscrew/screw) and 1 side to move the S2= level clockwise to increase or decrease your setting. I am able to hold it down in setting 1 so far against my X3 35i stock same 19's DWS as me but he has a K&N Filter vs I have stock, I didn't have a chance yet to test lower settings against him but at 1 i was able to beat my E90 335i manual friend 3x, and I increased to "2" and it continues to give me more. I take the lead off the line but in the long distance u cannot change the 35i 300hp so he leads after 60-70 but what do I care lol I'm mostly driving 0-80. So to sum it up, My race chip came in stock setting C, i increased to D, E, F, 0, 1, and now on 2.. I have 3,4,5,6,7 to go (7 is max and 8 is lowest). hoping Kendroz and Yellowflash have done a few pulls with others 335 cars.

Yellowflash is on 4 right now (go figure) lol As RaceChip Germany and USA Tech emails say raise as you please but spend 30-50 miles on each setting before increasing and when you receive a CEL light go down 2 notches and that is your perfect/maximum setting for your car. As each vehicle is different even though they have the same engine, for ex. Kendroz has more mods hence his engine can def pull more but since my car is bigger my engine area has more space/cooling (i think) lol and also he's in hot weather climate I'm in North East so right now cold weather helps too. Check out his 0-60 video with Racechip I have been uploading some videos on youtube as well.

I will correct myself here too..
My chip unit was on switch position 2 actually, as I used the same unit before on my previous car which was F20 116i... On it, I managed to get to it by switch position 4, and when I got my present car I recalled now that I lowered it back to number 2, and left it like that. Yesterday I wanted to increase it to number 5, than I got huge surprise when I opened the box and realized it was on number 2... So, the video that I uploaded is with number 2 setting. Anyway I increased it now to number 3. It goes well, and I can't tell if there was any dramatic difference, but most important thing is there wasn't any issue after going up from 60 to 135 mph, several times in the row. My ODB2 bluetooth device should arrive next with with AFE TBS, and my scheduled maintenance is also happening too next week. Once I get my car back I will start to do logging and recording with Torque pro app with several mods that I have on my disposal and share it with you guys. So far my mods are, K&N filter, AFE stage 2 intake, AFE TBS, and Racechip piggyback. My plan so far is to get all important readings and logging including times in this order. 1. Completely bone stock care. 2. Completely stock care with just K&N filter 3. Racechip default (0) position with K&N filter 4. Racechip Default (0) position with AFE Cold intake Based on this info, I will see to squeeze in AFE TBS and see if it actually does anything, and moved later on increasing settings, and what it actually does with the car. |
