M performance adhesive removal?

Hello all,
I got a small amount of adhesive (glue) on the outside of my performance splitter. It's not really noticeable but I was debating on what I could do to remove it. I can't use any chemicals, because whatever removes the adhesive would probably eat the plastic. Does anyone know if I could use a super fine grit sand paper and wet sand a small spot without making the plastic look scratched in that area? never worked with plastic before.
